As project delivery models, regulatory frameworks, supply chains, and technology continue to evolve, our ability to stay flexible and agile in our construction approach is essential to our success.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The <strong>Construction Field Engineer </strong>will support field operations by providing engineering expertise, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and project schedules.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Displays knowledge and abilities to evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications. </li>\n <li>Displays applications of sound professional judgment on details of work. </li>\n <li>Independently performs walk-downs and inspections of installed commodities to assure conformance with specifications and design. </li>\n <li>Performs quantity surveys for tracking and reporting. </li>\n <li>May provide technical direction to drafters, technicians, and surveyors.</li>\n <li>Support daily field operations on heavy civil construction sites, including excavation, structural concrete, grading, and utility installation.</li>\n <li>Assist with interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and work plans for field crews.</li>\n <li>Perform quantity take-offs and assist in tracking material usage and equipment needs on site.</li>\n <li>Monitor work for compliance with safety standards, quality expectations, and project specifications.</li>\n <li>Coordinate with survey teams for layout, elevations, and as-built data collection.</li>\n <li>Prepare daily field reports, photo documentation, and work logs to support project tracking and billing.</li>\n <li>Assist with resolving field issues by working with superintendents, subcontractors, and design engineers.</li>\n <li>Participate in job site safety meetings, audits, and ensure PPE and safety protocols are being followed.</li>\n <li>Support preparation and tracking of RFIs, submittals, and minor change requests from the field.</li>\n <li>Use construction software and tools to report progress and support communication between field and office teams.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.</li>\n <li>2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Previous heavy civil construction experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Additional Information:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>This position is based in Renton, WA</li>\n <li>Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.</li>\n <li>This position does not include sponsorship for a United States work authorization.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The salary range for this position is between $100,000-$115,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Shimmick offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package designed to support your health, well-being, and financial future.
