Job Purpose: This role is responsible for overseeing the collection, analysis, and presentation of operational data to support decision-making and drive performance improvements. This position requires a keen eye for detail, proficiency in data analysis, and strong coordination skills to ensure effective communication with internal stakeholders and adherence to reporting deadlines.
Responsibilities
Team Lead - MIS and Performance
Data Collection and Meeting Coordination:
Oversee the collection of relevant information and data from all sites, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
Review daily generation parameters of all units, including load factor and unit availability, and address any data unavailability issues promptly.
Prepare consolidated reports for energy and daily generation, ensuring coordination with other business units such as renewables and transmission.
Compile specific data for CEO reports, including power sales, coal flow, and commercial performance.
Coordinate daily morning meetings and ensure effective communication of key operational updates.
Collate data in various Excel formats, including sensitive information on power sales, coal reports, and water stock.
Performance Monitoring and Analysis:
Monitor station heat rate reports and thermal scorecards, providing insights into unit performance and addressing any discrepancies.
Generate insights from MIS reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Guide the lead in resolving MIS-related issues and escalate complex issues as necessary.
Reporting and Presentation:
Prepare monthly and quarterly reports based on data provided by the lead, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Create presentations for thermal site reviews, including generation gap analysis and budget versus actuals comparisons.
Represent the ENOC team during reviews from the management, providing performance data and insights.
Automation and Process Improvement:
Lead MIS-related automation initiatives, from requirement gathering to testing and implementation.
Drive idea generation to enhance existing applications such as ENOC 1 and improve overall efficiency.
Ensure timely and sensitive handling of data requests and communication within the team and with external stakeholders.
Digitisation and Automation:
Execute comprehensive digitization strategies to optimise operational efficiency.
Implement automation solutions to support overall organisational goals / strategy.
Implement process and system improvements, adopting newer technologies and innovative ideas.
People and Team Engagement:
Participate in the recruitment process to attract and retain skilled personnel for the team.
Enhance employee engagement across the team to sustain a positive workplace culture.
Lead, inspire and mentor the team to foster a high-performance culture and ensure cross skilling through job rotation, technical and behavioural trainings.
Ensure proper succession planning in the team.
Foster a conducive environment for high employee retention by ensuring team satisfaction and professional development.
