The QISG team brings together Engineering, Safety, Quality, Material Procurement, QA/QC, Right-of-Way Acquisition, Scheduling, Environmental Planning, Permitting, Title and Land Management expertise that ensure outstanding results for our clients.<strong>JOB TITLE: </strong>Project Engineer - Substation<strong>DEPARTMENT: </strong>Engineering<strong>REPORTS TO: </strong>Director Engineering<strong>CLASSIFICATION: Exempt</strong><strong>POSITION OVERVIEW:</strong>The Project Engineer will oversee the design of high voltage infrastructure projects. This role will involve providing an oversight role for the design team performing the detailed design.  It will also include performing engineering to support EPC proposals.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering, with extensive experience in high voltage substation or transmission line projects. <strong>What We Offer:  </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive salary and bonus structure.</li>\n <li>Comprehensive health and retirement benefits.</li>\n <li>Professional development opportunities.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>What You’ll Do: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Oversee projects from inception to completion, including: planning, design, permitting, construction support, and closeout. </li>\n <li>Review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications for electrical substations or transmission lines. </li>\n <li>Ensure projects are on budget and schedule while ensuring cost-effective solutions. </li>\n <li>Review projects to verify compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards, including environmental and safety requirements. </li>\n <li>Coordinate with stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and the public, to ensure successful project delivery. </li>\n <li>Oversee quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship and materials. </li>\n <li>Prepare and maintain detailed project status reports, engineering documentation, and records. </li>\n <li>Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of his/her work.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>What You’ll Bring: </strong><strong>Required Experience and Education</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the electric utility industry performing detailed engineering for high voltage substation projects. </li>\n <li>Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) or Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.</li>\n <li>P.E. license required.</li>\n <li>Strong technical expertise in structural, civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering, with a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles and practices.</li>\n <li>Expert knowledge of electric utility engineering and construction standards.</li>\n <li>Strong understanding of industry specific software packages.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with processes and procedures for project controls and estimates.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience supporting external customers.</li>\n <li>Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, and external partners.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations, including ANSI, ASTM, ACI, AISC, IEEE, NEC, NESC, and others.</li>\n <li>Able to deal with ambiguity and ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and determine priorities in a complex environment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Travel Requirements: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Role will require travel as necessary to achieve job responsibilities, up to 10-25% of the time.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Note: This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
