This includes treatment plants, pump stations, storage, conveyance systems, system evaluations, and condition assessments. You’ll work on a variety of projects supporting electrical power distribution, instrumentation, control systems, telemetry, and SCADA—from concept through design and construction support. This is a hybrid position with monthly travel, tied to our San Diego or Arizona offices. </p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities  </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Advanced Engineering and Technical Expertise</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead the development of complex engineering analyses, simulations, and model-based assessments. </li>\n <li>Design low- to medium-voltage (120V–15kV) power distribution systems in compliance with NEC and other codes. </li>\n <li>Independently develop electrical drawings and documentation, including single-line diagrams, power & lighting plans, conduit block diagrams, panel schedules, and schematics. </li>\n <li>Independently design electrical systems, including utility service, power distribution, motor controls, standby power systems, electrical room layouts, power plans, lighting, and grounding. </li>\n <li>Independently perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop, short circuit analysis, and equipment sizing. </li>\n <li>Design instrumentation and control systems including P&IDs, instrumentation, PLCs, SCADA, and communication networks (fiber, copper, radio). </li>\n <li>Define and document hazardous areas per NFPA 820 and NEC 500. </li>\n <li>Edit guide technical specifications for electrical, instrumentation, and control systems to be project specific. </li>\n <li>Support construction with shop drawing reviews, RFIs, field inspections, and commissioning. </li>\n <li>Optimize technical workflows and methodologies to improve project efficiency and accuracy. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Project and Task Management</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Oversee complex project phases, ensuring technical accuracy, budget adherence, and schedule compliance. </li>\n <li>Manage highly technical project components and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate engineering solutions. </li>\n <li>Direct, review, and provide guidance on engineering work performed by junior and mid-level staff to ensure quality and consistency. </li>\n <li>Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and follow Dudek CAD and design guideline requirements and standards. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure all technical work complies with applicable industry codes, regulatory requirements, and client standards. </li>\n <li>Conduct quality control reviews and troubleshoot complex technical challenges. </li>\n <li>Provide expert-level recommendations to optimize project design, performance, and constructability. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Technical Leadership and Mentorship</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Serve as a subject matter expert for complex engineering concepts, methodologies, and design approaches. </li>\n <li>Mentor and train junior engineers to strengthen team technical capabilities. </li>\n <li>Contribute to the development of internal technical guidance, standards, and best practices for the organization. </li>\n <li>As subject matter expert, contribute to the creation of new electrical, instrumentation, and controls guide specification sections and suggest modifications to existing guide specifications. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Innovation and Process Improvement</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Identify opportunities to improve engineering models, workflows, and analytical tools. </li>\n <li>Research and implement emerging technologies to enhance engineering efficiency and project outcomes. </li>\n <li>Participate in internal knowledge sharing initiatives, technical workshops, and process improvements. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Business Development and Industry Engagement</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide technical expertise in support of proposals, project pursuits, and client meetings. </li>\n <li>Develop technical scopes of work and cost estimates for complex project tasks. </li>\n <li>Present technical research, case studies, or project findings at industry conferences or professional events, as appropriate. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. </li>\n <li>10 + years of progressive electrical, instrumentation, and control systems engineering experience with demonstrated technical depth for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, storage, conveyance systems, system evaluations, and condition assessments. </li>\n <li>Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certificate in California or another U.S. state. </li>\n <li>Strong understanding of engineering principles, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. </li>\n <li>Proficient with AutoCAD producing EI&C contract drawing packages. </li>\n <li>Advanced knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70, NFPA 820, and relevant codes and standards. </li>\n <li>Strong experience designing low-voltage (120V–480V) power systems for water/wastewater facilities in compliance with NEC, including drawings and specifications, with minimal supervision. </li>\n <li>Experience developing P&IDs, controls, and communication networks using reference designs with little to no supervision. </li>\n <li>Independently review electrical, instrumentation, and controls shop drawings and submittals and provide engineering support during construction. </li>\n <li>Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork skills. </li>\n <li>Ability to manage work across multiple projects and meet deadlines. </li>\n <li>Valid driver’s license and active auto insurance. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Electrical Professional Engineer (PE) license in California, Arizona or another U.S. state, with the ability to obtain an Electrical PE license in California with six months of hire. </li>\n <li>Strong experience designing low and medium-voltage (120V–15kV) power systems for water/wastewater facilities in compliance with NEC, including drawings and specifications, with minimal supervision. </li>\n <li>Experience developing P&IDs, controls, communication networks, telemetry communication systems and SCADA systems with little to no supervision. </li>\n <li>Proficiency with advanced engineering and analysis software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SKM Power Tools, Bluebeam Revu 21 or similar tools. </li>\n <li>Demonstrated expertise in complex technical modeling, simulations, or advanced data analysis. </li>\n <li>Proven ability to manage technical aspects of projects and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams. </li>\n <li>Strong quality control and technical review experience. </li>\n <li>Experience mentoring and developing engineers within a consulting or professional services engineering team. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Compensation:</strong> $100,000-160,000 annually* </p>\n<p>*Final agreed-upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location.
