    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><p><strong><u>POSITION SUMMARY:</u></strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left: 4px; text-align: left;\">The High School Social Studies Teacher will design and implement the Social Studies educational curriculum in one or more academic subjects appropriate for high school students, using New York State Science Learning Standards and Social Studies Framework to guide and encourage students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.</p><p><strong><u>PRIMARY DUTIES:</u></strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: -0.25in;\"><li>Create lesson and unit plans to teach students a subject, utilizing the state standards and curriculum.</li><li>Develop and implement a solid motivating curriculum for high school students.</li><li>Modify lesson plans and materials to make them suitable for students&rsquo; current learning levels.</li><li>Integrate technology into the classroom (Schoology and Google)</li><li>Develop teaching and learning materials for use in class, including lesson plans, exams and homework, homework and projects, and assignments that use all student skills.</li><li>Maintain relationships with families and legal guardians of students to keep them informed of their child&rsquo;s progress.</li><li>Work with students individually to help them overcome specific learning challenges.</li><li>Supervise students outside of the classroom&mdash;for example, during recess, field trips, or school-related events.</li><li>Monitor and track student progress and issue grades.</li><li>Knowledge of IEPs and Career Transition Plan</li><li>Work collaboratively with other teachers and administrators, including related service providers, to provide individualized support for each student regularly.</li><li>Collaborate with other teachers to share best practices and provide meaningful feedback regularly</li><li>Support the school&rsquo;s Strategic Planning initiatives with an emphasis on culture. Demonstrate a commitment to the school&rsquo;s vision, purpose, and mission</li><li>Perform other related duties as required and assigned.</li></ul><p><strong><u>REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</u></strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: -0.25in;\"><li>Ability and willingness to reflect and improve instructional practices&nbsp;</li><li>Compassionate and Passionate; Results-driven and goal oriented&nbsp;</li><li>Excellent classroom management skills.
