    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Job Title:</span> Journeyman Concrete Carpenter (Level 4)</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Location: </span>Logansport / Lafayette, Indiana</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Position Type: </span>Full-Time / Year-Round</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Wage: </span>Up to $35/hr</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Job Summary:</span></p>\n<p>We are seeking dependable and experienced Journeyman Concrete Carpenter to join our Team to support onsite construction by performing advanced concrete finishing work on construction projects including foundations, flatwork, and vertical surfaces.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Proficiencies:</span></p>\n<p>Level 4 Journeyman Concrete Carpenters must be proficient in the items below.</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Concrete Carpenter Proficiencies</li>\n<li>Steps / Ramps</li>\n<li>Cure and Seal Types</li>\n<li>Knowledge of mixes, accelerators and retardants</li>\n<li>American Concrete Institute Finisher Course</li>\n<li>Forming Complicated Machine Foundations</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Key Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interpret construction plans, blueprints and specifications to determine finishing requirements.</li>\n<li>Place, level, smooth and finish concrete using hand tools (trowels, floats, edgers) and power tools (power trowels, screeds, grinders)</li>\n<li>Place, spread and level concrete using tools such as rakes, shovels, floats, screeds and trowels.</li>\n<li>Apply a range of surface textures and finishes such as broom, trowel and exposed aggregate and polished finishes.</li>\n<li>Set forms, check elevations and ensure proper slope and pitch for drainage.</li>\n<li>Install expansion joints, keyways and control joints using joiners or saws to prevent cracking.</li>\n<li>Monitor concrete curing and apply appropriate curing agents, sealers or surface treatments.</li>\n<li>Repair defects such as chips, cracks or surface inconsistencies in finished concrete</li>\n<li>Operate concrete saws, mixers, and vibrators</li>\n<li>Monitor effects of weather conditions on the curing of concrete and take protective measures as needed.</li>\n<li>Mentor and support less-experienced Team members as needed.</li>\n<li>Perform construction tasks and other duties as assigned.</li>\n<li>Maintain a clean and safe job site by following OSHA, SCI and client specific safety regulations and policies.</li>\n<li>Ability to read and understand signage, safety notices, SDS, product warnings and directions, etc.</li>\n<li>Able to choose and use proper PPE</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Position Requirements:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>High school diploma or equivalent preferred</li>\n<li>Valid driver’s license</li>\n<li>Reliable transportation</li>\n<li>Ability to travel to jobsite, up to one hour</li>\n<li>Punctuality</li>\n<li>Strong work ethic and attention to detail</li>\n<li>Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including various weather conditions</li>\n<li>Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Physical Requirements:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to stand, squat, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, walk, push, pull, crouch and crawl for long periods of time</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding</li>\n<li>Work at heights (in lifts and on roofs)</li>\n<li>Don and wear a harness and lanyard</li>\n<li>Work while stooping over</li>\n<li>Work on hands and knees</li>\n<li>Stand for extended periods</li>\n<li>Walk for extended periods</li>\n<li>Have dexterity to operate hand and power tools and handle materials</li>\n<li>Work with arms overhead</li>\n<li>Ability to wear a respirator (to be fit tested by employer)</li>\n<li>Ability to lift 50+ pounds on a regular basis</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Working Conditions:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Indoor / outdoor construction environments</li>\n<li>Exposure to loud noise, high elevations, extreme temperatures, and hazardous materials</li>\n<li>May involve heights, confined spaces and heavy equipment</li>\n<li>SCI and client specific PPE (personal protective equipment) required</li>\n</ul>",
