Our mission is to deliver the highest quality professional services while prioritizing our employees' well-being and fostering an exceptional workplace environment.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What You Will Do</strong></p>\n<p>As an Automation Specialist II you will be responsible for the design of control system details, instrumentation configuration, preparation for implementation, implementation, testing, documentation, and training.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>A Typical Day at Prime Controls</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Collaborates with project managers and estimators to assess potential projects and submit proposals.</li>\n <li>Reads and interprets diagrams and documentation and communicates with customers to understand objectives and preferences.</li>\n <li>Develops the overall architecture and communication strategy between control system elements.</li>\n <li>Works with the customer and other stakeholders to define and document control system functionality.</li>\n <li>Develops BOMs, IO lists, and requirements for control panels</li>\n <li>Serves as the technical lead for small projects. This includes building PLC and HMI templates for the project.</li>\n <li>Develops PLC programs in Ladder, Function Block, and other languages.</li>\n <li>Develops the human machine interface (HMI).</li>\n <li>Develops hardware and software test plans and writes simulation logic for the testing of the PLC and HMI system.</li>\n <li>Develops a training plan and materials to train operations and maintenance personnel.</li>\n <li>Communicates and coordinates with management of the installation team to ensure that technicians are executing per documented processes.</li>\n <li>Tests the installed system to observe system functionality and ensure that the programs function as designed.</li>\n <li>Troubleshoots problems that occur during startup that are caused by incorrect drawings, changes in customer desires, inaccurate instrumentation specifications, or other technical issues. Diagnoses and resolves software and hardware interface issues.</li>\n <li>Trains customers on use and operation of client-specific system integration software.</li>\n <li>Interfaces with manufacturers and vendors of software and application products, especially with regard to problem diagnosis and resolution.</li>\n <li>Works with others to address design problems as necessary.</li>\n <li>May respond to service calls to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair programming and system failures.</li>\n <li>Mentor and train less experienced employees.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What You Will Bring</strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong><em>The Basic</em></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>4 years Industrial Controls experience in architectural, engineering or construction (AEC) industry or similar field</li>\n <li>Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, related Bachelor’s discipline, related degree from a Technical College or equivalent Industrial controls experience</li>\n <li>4 years of experience in PLC programming</li>\n <li>Proficiency with Allen Bradley equipment and systems</li>\n <li>Proficiency in PLC Programming including ladder logic, function block, and structured text</li>\n <li>Familiarity with networking (Ethernet/IP)</li>\n <li>Experience and knowledge of HMIs</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><em>The Preferred</em></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>6 years of experience in architectural, engineering or construction (AEC) industry or similar field</li>\n <li>Proficiency with AutoCAD – Autodesk software</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>What We Offer:</strong></p>\n<p>Full-time employees enjoy a great benefits package including, but not limited to:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Health, Dental, and Vision coverage</li>\n <li>Flexible Spending Account(s)</li>\n <li>Generous PTO</li>\n <li>Numerous culture events</li>\n <li>401k matching and more!</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Work Environment:</strong></p>\n<p>The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The environment can be outside and in other spaces that are not environmentally controlled. The temperature can be over 100°F or below 32°F. There can be mud on the ground as well as ice and snow. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee needs to be able to spend 10 hours on their feet walking and attending to duties and equipment throughout the jobsite. They need to be able to climb ladders and step on platforms and equipment.
