Description This is a Remote position. Applicants must reside in one of the following states: Alabama, Colorado, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. Nemours is seeking a Biostatistician . The Biostatistician reports to and assists the Nemours Anesthesia and Surgical Outcomes Center (NASOC) in providing in-depth statistical expertise for clinicians and researchers from conception through to the conclusion of research studies. This includes, but is not limited to, assistance with designing clinical research studies, writing statistical sections of research proposals, calculating sample size and power, managing, analyzing and interpreting clinical data and databases, and authoring statistical analysis results for clinical study reports and manuscripts. The Biostatistician also participates in educational and training activities through workshops and one-on-one interactions to enhance clinician/researcher’s understanding of the principles of statistics and design. The Biostatistician is required to have sound knowledge of statistical principles and strong skills in computational methods to perform complex data manipulation and analysis using major statistical software packages such as SAS, R, Stata, and SPSS. The knowledge of other computer programs such as EndNote, Smartsheets, and PASS will be a plus. The Biostatistician is expected to possess a positive attitude, be detail-oriented, and be able to interact and explain statistical results to researchers/investigators to promote teamwork in a multidisciplinary research team setting throughout the organization. Primary Responsibilities 1. Interact independently and with the NASOC in interactions with clinical investigators, physicians, and other scientists to provide study design and statistical and programming support from the hypothesis generation phase through dissemination of results of a study. 2. Perform power and sample size calculations, generate randomization lists and write statistical methodology section for inclusion in study protocols/proposals. 3. Perform complex data manipulation and assist investigators in setting up data for analyses. 4. Carry out statistical analyses with highest level of accuracy and present results to investigators as necessary. 5. Assist in maintenance of statistical software and systems used by the NASOC. 6. Write scripts, programs, and SQL queries to assist self and others in data processing 7. Author statistical section of the research proposal and manuscript Qualifications Master's degree required At least 1 year of experience Company Nemours Children's Health is an internationally recognized pediatric health system serving more than 1.7 million patient encounters each year.
