May treat diseases of nerve, pulp, and other dental tissues affecting oral hygiene and retention of teeth. May fit dental appliances or provide preventive care.  May provide treatment to adult or pediatric patients.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Benefit Overview:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Great Work Hours: Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm</li>\n<li>Paid Time Off\n<ul>\n<li>Vacation</li>\n<li>Sick</li>\n<li>Education Leave</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>Comprehensive Benefits Package for Full-Time Dentist\n<ul>\n<li>Health Insurance</li>\n<li>Dental Insurance</li>\n<li>Vision Insurance</li>\n<li>Company Paid Life Insurance</li>\n<li>Continuing Education Reimbursement</li>\n<li>403(b) Pension Plan</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>Federal Loan Repayment for qualified applicants</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Review medical and dental histories.</li>\n<li>Use masks, gloves and safety glasses to protect self and patients from infectious disease.</li>\n<li>Examine teeth, gums, and related tissues, using dental instruments, x-rays, or other diagnostic equipment, to evaluate dental health, diagnose diseases or abnormalities and plan appropriate treatments.</li>\n<li>Take high-quality x-rays.</li>\n<li>Examine x rays of teeth, gums, the jaw, and nearby areas for problems</li>\n<li>Administer anesthetics to limit the amount of pain experienced by patients during procedures.</li>\n<li>Formulate plan of treatment for patient’s teeth and mouth tissue.</li>\n<li>Use air turbine and hand instruments, dental appliances and surgical implements.</li>\n<li>Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries or malformations of teeth, gums or related oral structures and provide preventive or corrective services.</li>\n<li>Advise or instruct patients regarding preventive dental care, the causes and treatment of dental problems or oral health care services.</li>\n<li>Write prescriptions for antibiotics or other medications.</li>\n<li>Treat exposure of pulp-by-pulp capping, removal of pulp from pulp chamber or root canal, using dental instruments.</li>\n<li>Fill pulp chamber and canal with endodontic materials</li>\n<li>Remove diseased tissue using surgical instruments</li>\n<li>Eliminate irritating margins of fillings and correct occlusions, using dental instruments.</li>\n<li>Apply fluoride or sealants to teeth.</li>\n<li>Analyze or evaluate dental needs to determine changes or trends in patterns of dental disease.</li>\n<li>Clean or polish teeth to restore natural color.</li>\n<li>Plan, organize or maintain dental health programs</li>\n<li>Provide input into the periodic evaluation of dental assistants and dental hygienists.</li>\n<li>Provide guidance and/or training to dental assistants.</li>\n<li>Produce or evaluate dental educational materials.</li>\n<li>Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.</li>\n<li>Participates in QA meetings and duties as assigned.</li>\n<li>Assists in the orientation of new employees.</li>\n<li>Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.</li>\n<li>Familiar with the center’s Fire and Disaster plan and the role of the Dentist in that plan.</li>\n<li>Knowledgeable of and adhere to departmental and agency policies.</li>\n<li>Perform related work as required or requested by manager.</li>\n<li>Regular, Punctual Attendance is a requirement of this position.<br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>One-year current experience as a dentist, strongly preferred.</li>\n<li>Graduate of a dental DDS or DDM school.</li>\n<li>Must be licensed as a Dentist (DDS or DDM) by the State of Ohio.</li>\n<li>Current certification in CPR.</li>\n<li>Typing skills of 35 accurate wpm</li>\n<li>Working knowledge of dental and medical terminology</li>\n<li>Pleasant and respectful manner in dealing with patients and staff</li>\n<li>Ability to work under demanding, stressful conditions</li>\n<li>Neat appearance, punctual, detail oriented</li>\n<li>Must be well organized, professional, flexible and have good interpersonal skills</li>\n<li>Must show initiative and ability to use sound judgment in the absence of specific orders</li>\n<li>Ability to maintain patient confidentiality</li>\n<li>Must be able to work independently<br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Who We Are:</span></p>\n<p>Neighborhood Health Association (NHA) is Northwest Ohio’s largest community health center system.
