We seek a candidate that is self-inspired to learn and demonstrates a high degree of customer service while positively contributing to our team.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Paint Helper plays a critical role in the paint department, preparing surfaces and accessories for painting and applying finishes according to industry standards. This position involves extensive preparation work such as sanding, cleaning, and masking, as well as the application of paints, undercoats, and sealants on various materials. The Paint Helper must be familiar with the operation of spray guns and lifting devices and is expected to assist in other departments as needed.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITY:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare project for paint by removing grease, dirt, paint, or rust from surfaces.</li>\n<li>Remove accessories, such as chrome or mirrors, from vehicles and mask other surfaces with tape or paper to protect them from paint.</li>\n<li>Learn to paint extra-small to small-sized parts and meet industry paint standards for quality.</li>\n<li>Select and operate the correct spray gun for the material being applied and correct paint.</li>\n<li>Apply the industrial automotive paint finished on various types of materials.</li>\n<li>Apply rust-resistant undercoats, caulk and seal seams; apply a sealer to properly dried vehicle finish.</li>\n<li>Monitor painting operations to identify flaws and correct their causes.</li>\n<li>Complete finishing processes, such as buffing and waxing.</li>\n<li>Operate lifting or moving devices to access materials needed or areas to be painted.</li>\n<li>Cross-train and assist in other departments as needed.</li>\n<li>Take on additional duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">BASIC KNOWLEDGE DESIRED:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be knowledgeable about commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the automotive painting field.</li>\n<li>Be knowledgeable about machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.</li>\n<li>Be knowledge about raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.</li>\n<li>Demonstrate understanding and application of Nomad Core Values.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Regular use of hands and arms to manipulate, handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls.</li>\n<li>Frequent standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, and crawling.</li>\n<li>Frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Assistance required for anything heavier than 50 pounds.</li>\n<li>Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and distinguish colors.</li>\n<li>Must have the physical stamina to work in awkward positions and stand for prolonged periods.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">WORKING ENVIRONMENT:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Partially environmentally controlled indoor area with temperatures fluctuating between 60°F and 100°F, typically maintained around 70°F.</li>\n<li>Occasional outdoor work required.</li>\n<li>Exposure to noise levels ranging from low to loud; safety hearing devices provided as needed.</li>\n<li>Possible exposure to household and commercial chemicals; adherence to safety protocols outlined in Safety Data Sheets (SDS) required.</li>\n<li>Mandatory wearing of OSHA-approved safety eyewear and closed-toed shoes at all times on the production floor.</li>\n<li>Use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE), such as respirators or protective coveralls, may be necessary for specific tasks.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">QUALIFICATIONS &amp; EXPERIENCE:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>High school diploma or GED.</li>\n<li>Minimum of 1-3 years of documented work experience in auto body and automobile painting.</li>\n<li>An apprenticeship and/or formal training in the application of automotive paint preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em> </em><em> </em></p>\n<p><em>Nomad GCS is an equal opportunity employer, (EOE,) and voluntarily follows affirmative action guidelines.
