These include the automotive, heavy-duty, off-road, consumer goods, marine, defense, aerospace and rail sectors.</p><p>HORIBA Automotive is searching for an Applications Engineer to be based at a client site in Lafayette, IN. This person will&nbsp;be responsible for developing engineering solutions for our customer using HORIBA&rsquo;s test automation software products to meet our customer requirements and functional specifications. This position will provide sales support, customer technical assistance, customer training on site, and potential support to other customers across the Americas.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:</strong></p><p><br></p><ol style=\"list-style-type: decimal;margin-left: -0.25in;\"><li>Commission new Test Automation Systems and upgrade existing systems at customer facilities.</li><li>Provide customer consultation for problem-solving within scope of supply and warranty requirements.</li><li>Translates requirements of technical documents into the Test Automation System configuration in order to properly operate instrumentation during tests.</li><li>Propose new products and features for Test Automation Systems enhancement; participates in Test Automation System product and feature development activities.</li><li>Test newly developed Test Automation Systems functional features as part of overall product quality review.</li><li>Assist Technical Specialist in training activities.</li><li>Be the primary technical representative for HORIBA with this customer; assist in building a strong working relationship with them.</li></ol><p style=\"margin-left:.25in;\"><br></p><p><strong>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in electrical, mechanical, software or chemical engineering, physics, chemistry or equivalent experience.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; effective verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail; highly self-motivated and organized.</li><li>Ability to travel to other customer facilities if needed &ndash; primarily domestic with occasional international.</li><li>Willingness to learn new skills and software diagnostic techniques on a regular basis.</li><li>Experience using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>PREFERRED SKILLS:</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Computer programming experience (C#, VB.net, Python, Labview)</li><li>Basic operating knowledge of test instrumentation functionality in the automotive industry; understanding of computer-to-instrument communication functionality under automated control by the Test Automation Systems.&nbsp;</li><li>Knowledge of Test Automation Systems Application Software tools as applied to requirements of project and testing environment.</li><li>Strong working knowledge of large engines and testing hardware related to them is preferred.</li></ul><p id=\"isPasted\"><br></p><p><br></p></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
