We’re proud to combine the resources of a large company with the values and care of a family-run business. </p>\n<h2>Essential Job Summary:</h2>\n<p>The Scale Operator will be mainly responsible for weighing in and weight out solid waste vehicles from both company drivers and third-party vendors/haulers. They will oversee receiving payments, checking loads, and always ensuring the safety of the landfill and scale.<strong> </strong></p>\n<h2>Essential Job Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Serve as first point of contact for any drivers, customers, or other traffic at the scale house </li>\n <li>Accurately calculate and process payments, weights and other measurements </li>\n <li>Verify incoming loads do not contain any unnecessary or inappropriate material </li>\n <li>Various administrative tasks including regular filing, data entry and reporting </li>\n <li>Provide general upkeep of the scale house </li>\n <li>Additional duties as assigned. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Required to use motor coordination such as typing, machine operating, etc. throughout the greater part of the workday </li>\n <li>Daily exposure to physical environment including odors, loud noises, weather elements, etc. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Requirements and Qualifications:</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States. </li>\n <li>High school/GED education completed; higher education is a plus. </li>\n <li>Minimum 2 years of warehouse environment experience. </li>\n <li>Experience from the sanitation industry is strongly preferred. </li>\n <li>Experience working with scales is strongly preferred. </li>\n <li>Working knowledge of general computer skills. </li>\n <li>Knowledgeable in the safe operation of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists, and jacking equipment </li>\n <li>Consistently capable of working independently to safely analyze and resolve problems. </li>\n <li>Fluency in English required, Spanish bilingual is a plus. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Additional Information</h2>\n<p>This job description is intended to be an accurate representation of the general functions of the job, rather than exhaustive list of duties, responsibilities, or experience.
