If you’re used to being on the road, working around crews, and taking pride in a job done right, this could be a great opportunity to build a career in fiber construction inspection.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>As a <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Fiber Optics Outside Plant Assistant Inspector</span>, you’ll work directly in the field alongside contractors, inspectors, resident engineers, and internal design teams. You’ll help observe construction work, track progress, document field changes, and learn how fiber networks are built from the ground up.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>This is not a desk job. You’ll be outside on active job sites, working around aerial and underground fiber construction, learning the details of fiber placement, splicing, documentation, safety, and project coordination.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Important Travel Requirement</span></p>\n<p>This position requires extensive travel. Work is performed almost entirely at project locations, and applicants should expect to live on the road during assigned projects. Lodging and travel arrangements are provided according to company policy.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>This role is a strong fit for someone who is already comfortable with road work, extended project assignments, and the day-to-day pace of construction.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">What You’ll Do</span></p>\n<p>In this role, you’ll support field inspection activities and help keep fiber construction projects moving accurately, safely, and efficiently.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Responsibilities may include:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assisting with inspection of fiber construction activities, including aerial construction, underground placement, splicing, and related field work</li>\n<li>Observing construction crews and helping confirm work is completed according to maps, project requirements, industry standards, and client expectations</li>\n<li>Updating construction maps with field changes, added materials, and completed work</li>\n<li>Learning to complete field documentation, including cup sheets, redlines, daily logs, photos, and other project records</li>\n<li>Maintaining accurate project files, reports, and field notes</li>\n<li>Communicating job site updates, issues, risks, and questions to the Lead Inspector, Resident Engineer, and internal design team</li>\n<li>Participating in field meetings with contractors, clients, Fibersmith personnel, and local agencies as needed</li>\n<li>Being present, dependable, and ready to work at assigned job sites</li>\n<li>Performing other duties as assigned to support successful project delivery</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">What We’re Looking For</span></p>\n<p>Experience in fiber construction or inspection is not required. We are looking for someone who is dependable, professional, willing to learn, and comfortable working on the road. The right person for this role shows up ready to work, follows direction, pays attention, and takes pride in doing the job well.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>If you have construction, utility, telecom, or fiber experience, that is helpful, but it is not required. We are willing to train the right person.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Qualifications include:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability and commitment to travel extensively and live on the road during project assignments</li>\n<li>Strong work ethic and dependable attendance</li>\n<li>Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather and job site conditions</li>\n<li>Professional appearance and ability to work respectfully with contractors, clients, vendors, and co-workers</li>\n<li>Ability to follow direction, ask questions, and learn new processes</li>\n<li>Attention to detail and ability to accurately document field activity</li>\n<li>Ability to adapt to changing job site conditions and project priorities</li>\n<li>Self-directed mindset with the initiative to complete assigned tasks</li>\n<li>Willingness to learn fiber construction terminology, field practices, equipment, and inspection processes</li>\n<li>Desire to grow and take on additional responsibility as skills develop</li>\n<li>Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook, preferred</li>\n<li>High School Diploma or GED required</li>\n<li>Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Why This Role Matters</span></p>\n<p>Fiber networks do not get built from drawings alone.
