We are responsible for achieving the highest possible availability, agility, safety, efficiency, and scalability. Focusing on overall reliability, our work is critical to the delivery of the network as we create solutions to ensure continuous operation.</p>\n<p><strong>Partner with the best</strong></p>\n<p>As a Senior Platform Reliability Engineer, you'll ensure the safety and stability of Akamai's evolving distributed platform. Collaborating cross-functionally you'll act as the vanguard for incident management, network-wide rollouts and proactive measures. You'll be involved in a variety of operational tasks, but also working at a holistic level.</p>\n<p>As a Reliability Engineer Senior, you will be responsible for:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Managing and, at times, conducting software rollouts that span massive, multi-service networks while handling escalations from our NOCC</li>\n <li>Providing operational management and support for our global production network</li>\n <li>Leading platform improvements and increasing the key operational efficiencies of reliability and performance</li>\n <li>Creating safety standards and analyzing behaviors through market trends, implementing code, and utilizing automation</li>\n <li>Developing automation and operational tools that help to reduce manual processes and toil</li>\n <li>Participating in an on-call rotation</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Do what you love</strong></p>\n<p>To be successful in this role you will:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Have 5 years of experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field</li>\n <li>Possess solid experience in operations or system administration</li>\n <li>Have government security clearance, or the ability to obtain security clearance</li>\n <li>Demonstrate experience with internet protocols, (DNS, HTTP, SSL) and scripting languages,(Python, Perl, shell)</li>\n <li>Show excellent communication, presentation and written skills to effectively work in a multi-team environment</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Work in a way that works for you</strong></p>\n<p>FlexBase, Akamai's Global Flexible Working Program, is based on the principles that are helping us create the best workplace in the world. The base salary for this position ranges from $106,600 - $221,400/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
