Among other resources, Alterra has a slate of Employee Resource Groups to support our workforce.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p><b>Position Summary</b></p><p>The Income Auditor is responsible for ensuring transaction balancing between systems and researching and resolving variances. The auditor is also responsible for reviewing reporting to identify transactions not aligned with policy. The auditor is critical in maintaining accuracy in the system and fraud prevention.</p><p></p><p><b><i>This position is required to be onsite at Deer Valley. </i></b></p><p></p><p><b>General Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Complete daily point of sale payment reconciliations including research and resolution of variances</li><li>When errors are identified, the Auditor will assist in correction process through on-going communication to supervisory staff.</li><li>Audit transactions from all resort points of sale: discounts, refunds and products</li><li>Confirm POS close locations, statement postings, etc.</li><li>Provide on-going communication to supervisory staff regarding issues identified</li><li>Prepare journal entries where applicable</li><li>Respond to guest inquiries where applicable (credit card issues and chargebacks)</li><li>Participate and support training or inquiries from Operations and/or other audit staff</li><li>Other projects as identified</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Required Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Excellent communication skills - verbal and written communication skills to facilitate resolutions to queries and discrepancies, and to establish a solid foundation of trust is maintained/established</li><li>Strong computer skills. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.</li><li>Requires analytical thinking, problem solving and multitasking skills.</li><li>Must have excellent organizational skills, the ability to keep detailed and neat records and be able to follow detailed operating procedures.</li><li>Must have keen attention to detail and use tools at their disposal to follow a system of checks and balances to ensure that significant errors/omissions are caught before any material financial issues are created and to detect potential fraud.</li><li>Enthusiasm, curiosity, and willingness to help out where needed.</li><li>Experience with D365, RTP or Sirus POS system a plus.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Required Education</b></p><ul><li>Minimum of two years’ experience in accounting.
