Description
Special Instructions to Applicants Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for visa sponsorship. The University will not sponsor applicants for work visas (e.g., H-1B). Job Summary The Fish Lab Intern will participate in an eight-week research experience focused on fish ecology and aquatic ecosystem studies. The primary research focus involves determining the diet composition of Mississippi Sound fishes to support and improve ecosystem modeling efforts, while also assisting with water quality data collection. The internship includes hands on field work conducted from shore and aboard small and large research vessels, as well as laboratory-based research activities. This position provides practical experience in fisheries research, field sampling, laboratory analysis, and scientific data collection. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Participate in water quality and fish sampling activities in the field. Prepare samples for analysis. Perform stomach content analysis. Analyze research data and assist with presenting results. Perform other job duties as assigned.
