Description
rag & bone is looking for a Senior Designer to join the Women's design team, with primary ownership of the cut & sew knit category in addition to Woven Product.
You will work closely with the Chief Design & Merchandising Officer and other cross functional design leads to collaborate across design, production, and merchandising to deliver product that is true to the rag & bone aesthetic — refined, purposeful, and built to last.
Concept Development/Research
Contribute to total womens seasonal direction, mood research, and concept presentations
Manage the design calendar with discipline — meeting key milestone dates across multiple seasonal calendars simultaneously
Manage at least one direct report, providing clear direction, feedback, and development support
Woven Categories
Contribute to the concept design, product design and development of soft outerwear, Pants, Tops and blazers.
Collaborate with the broader design team to ensure cohesion and range architecture across knit and woven categories
Familiarity with washed product — understanding how wash treatments affect hand, construction, and fit — and the ability to develop and spec accordingly
Cut & Sew Knits
Lead the design and development of the cut & sew knit category from concept through production-ready specs
Drive fabric and yarn research, working closely with mills and suppliers to source and develop materials aligned with seasonal direction
Oversee fit and construction with a hands-on approach to pattern review, grading standards, and garment engineering
Manage design pack creation and ensure accuracy of specs, trims, and construction details
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
8+ years of womenswear design experience, with demonstrated expertise in cut & sew knit development
Deep knowledge of knit fabrics, construction methods, and garment engineering
Working knowledge of woven categories; experience in both knit and woven is strongly preferred
Proficiency in Digital tools
Experience leading fittings with technical design & PD partners
Commercially grounded — you understand how design decisions translate into product performance
Excellent communicator with the ability to present ideas clearly and collaborate across functions
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines across concurrent seasonal calendars
