Our purpose: Bringing quality, safety, and sustainability to life.</p><p><strong>What are we looking for?</strong></p><p><span>The&nbsp;<strong>Technician II</strong> is responsible for providing technical support for engineering staff, including performing duties related to testing. This <strong>Technician II</strong> works under direct supervision and is responsible for performing electrical/performance testing on a variety of products to the provisions of U.S., Canada (e.g.,&nbsp;IES, CIE, NEMA, UL/CSA) and other international&nbsp;product safety standards, writing reports and communicating with clients. </span><strong>This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship</strong></p><p><strong>Salary &amp; Benefits Information</strong></p><p>The salary range for this position is $28 - $35 per hour. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.&nbsp;</p><p>In addition to competitive compensation packages, Intertek employees are eligible for a variety of benefits including paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, paid parental leave, medical plan options, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan with company matching, tuition reimbursement, and more.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p><ul><li><span>Read apply test methods and test specifications provided by engineering for EUT (equipment under test).</span></li><li><span>Read and understand schematics and manufacturing&nbsp;</span>instructions.</li><li><span>Under scope of the project, identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for&nbsp;</span>testing.</li><li><span>Set up and operate EUT (Equipment Under Test); perform and document simple repairs on EUT as&nbsp;</span>needed.</li><li><span>Perform testing of products in accordance with standards. Core tests include, but are not limited to&nbsp;input rating, normal temperature, leakage current, dielectric, grounding impedance, stability, mechanical hazard, flammability, abnormal, fault assurance, rain, and IP.</span></li><li><span>Develop and set up test plans.</span></li><li><span>Set up and operate standard test equipment including, but not limited to, spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, multi-meter, dielectric strength tester, ground continuity tester, digital multi-meter, surge generator, over-voltage tester, environmental condition chamber, articulated probes. Use hand tools to build/calibrate test fixtures.</span></li><li><span>Follow sample handling procedures, ensure that sample is logged into and out of the system.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span>Move equipment as needed through the facility. Properly package sample for shipment.</span></li><li><span>Maintain equipment and facilities.</span></li><li><span>Perform basic analysis of test data and routine calculations.</span></li><li>Wiring to identify and connect&nbsp;complex branch circuit connections including but not limited to single phase, split phase, three phase, Delta and Y Configurations.</li><li><span>May make recommendations regarding technical decisions relating to the interpretation and applicability of test standards.</span></li><li><span>May communicate with clients and management.</span></li><li><span>Perform other work as required.</span></li></ul><p>This position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details.
