The Health &amp; Safety Coordinator will act as the first point of contact for all safety-related matters, working closely with site teams, project managers, project coordinators, and leadership to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and BUILD IT standards.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>You will play a key role in maintaining and strengthening our COR-certified safety program, supporting internal audits, and driving continuous improvement across all safety processes. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<p>Safety Program Management:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain and continuously improve the Health &amp; Safety program, policies, and procedures</li>\n<li>Support and maintain COR certification and internal audit processes</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Audits &amp; Compliance:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct internal audits, site inspections, and safety reviews</li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with all applicable safety legislation and company standards</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Training &amp; Orientation:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Schedule and deliver new hire Health &amp; Safety orientations</li>\n<li>Coordinate and deliver ongoing safety training programs</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Site Support:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct regular site visits and support Site Supervisors and Project Coordinators</li>\n<li>Reinforce safe work practices and address safety concerns proactively</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Documentation &amp; Reporting:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain safety records including inspections, hazard assessments, incidents, and training logs</li>\n<li>Prepare reports, track safety metrics, and analyze incident data</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Meetings &amp; Committees:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Organize and support Joint Health &amp; Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings</li>\n<li>Record and distribute meeting minutes as required</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Incident Management:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with workplace incident investigations and reporting</li>\n<li>Coordinate submissions through Workers’ Compensation Board systems</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Continuous Improvement:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify opportunities to improve safety processes and systems</li>\n<li>Support the development of safety training materials and programs</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>2–5+ years of experience in a Health &amp; Safety role within construction or a related industry</li>\n<li>Auditor Training Program (ATP) Certificate preferred</li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of provincial health and safety legislation, regulations, and codes</li>\n<li>Experience supporting or maintaining COR certification and internal audits</li>\n<li>Familiarity with IHSA standards and safety best practices</li>\n<li>Ability to develop and deliver safety training programs</li>\n<li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage high volumes of documentation and data</li>\n<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with site teams and leadership</li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management systems</li>\n<li>Ability to conduct site visits and audits across active construction projects</li>\n<li>A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What We Offer:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>A vibrant corporate culture where safety is the #1 priority</li>\n<li>Monthly employee appreciation events</li>\n<li>Access to family-friendly group health benefits program</li>\n<li>Employee Assistance Program</li>\n<li>Career development opportunities</li>\n<li>Milestone Recognition Program</li>\n<li>Employee Referral bonuses</li>\n<li>Training opportunities: online and leadership development programs</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What We Value:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>admire constructive thinkers</li>\n<li>value trust and transparency</li>\n<li>believe it's the little details that make for an exceptional experience</li>\n<li>prioritize safety in everything we do</li>\n<li>build a strong culture from the inside out</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Our organization may use automated tools, including artificial intelligence (AI) or algorithm-assisted systems, to support the initial review of applications.
