Design Solutions</p><ul><li>Delivers engineering design excellence.</li><li>Generates inventive, fresh ideas expressed through sketching that meets functional requirements.</li><li>Adjusts and/or incorporates changes in design based on feedback from management and/or client.</li><li>Develops design concepts for products, parts and assemblies.</li><li>Creates detailed CAD models of parts and assemblies.</li><li>Develops product documentation that supports high quality production.</li><li>Employs DFM, DFA and DFQ.</li><li>Uses advanced engineering modeling and simulation tools, instrumentation and measurement and design of experiments.</li></ul><p>2. Quality/Continuous Improvement</p><ul><li>Delivers flawless deliverables to client.</li><li>Manages deliverables and timing for self.</li><li>Delivers products that meets Kaleidoscope&rsquo;s standards and when appropriate, international standards and regulations.</li></ul><p>3. Performance Management</p><ul><li>Checks own work and that of peers, as requested.</li><li>Mentors and collaborates with entry level staff.</li><li>Participates in management of scope, schedule and cost.</li></ul><p>4. Client Interaction</p><ul><li>Presents to internal and external audiences.</li><li>Represents Kaleidoscope in a positive fashion.</li></ul><p>5. Research</p><ul><li>Participates in project research and brainstorming teams.</li><li>Participates and leads meetings with clients.</li><li>Objectively observes and understands user research inputs.</li><li>Participates in usability tests in order to discover design requirements and validate design concepts.</li><li>Participates in observational research as needed to uncover unmet needs.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>This job description is not intended to be all inclusive and the employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor and other management as required.</p><p><br></p><p>QUALIFICATIONS</p><p>Education/Experience</p><ul><li>Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or related field</li><li>3-6+ years of professional experience in engineering and product development</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Skills/Specialized Knowledge/Abilities</p><ul><li>Possesses good analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Advanced knowledge of SolidWorks 3D CAD.</li><li>Intermediate knowledge in geometric tolerance analysis.</li><li>Proficient in documentation, dimensioning, and specification writing.</li><li>Experience designing for varied types of fabrication and production, especially sheet metal, weldments, injection molding.</li><li>Experience with automation, material handling or robotics.</li><li>Experience with Solidworks PDM and Agile PLM a plus.</li><li>Proficient using hand tools and building/fabricating large prototypes.</li><li>Synthesizes and drives towards appropriate solutions.</li><li>Able to work independently with minimal direction.</li><li>Able to own system designs and proactively suggest and implement design improvements.</li><li>Adequately uses Microsoft Office applications: (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook).</li><li>Detail oriented work style and service.</li><li>Works and thinks in a methodical and logical way.</li><li>Prioritizes and completes tasks to deliver desired outcomes within allotted time frames.</li><li>Works collaboratively with colleagues and clients.</li><li>Thinks for clarity, accuracy, precision, relevance, depth, breadth, significance, logic, and fairness.</li><li>Writes and prepares documents/reports/proposals in a concise and logical format.</li><li>Willingness to take direction from others and to accept constructive feedback while being adaptable.</li><li>Communicates in a professional demeanor.</li><li>Excellent listener.</li><li>Handles sensitive information and maintains confidentiality.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>WORKING CONDITIONS</p><p>Tools and Equipment Used</p><ul><li>Computer workstation, typical office equipment, Laboratory instrument and measurement equipment</li></ul><p>Travel</p><ul><li>Able to spend 2 days/week on site at North Reading MA or Westborough MA</li></ul><p style='margin:0in;font-size:15px;font-family:\"Calibri\",sans-serif;' id=\"isPasted\"><br><strong>Kaleidoscope, an Infosys Company, is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, spouse of protected veteran, or disability.</strong></p></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
