Based full-time on-site in Vernon, CA, this role serves as a highly visible operational leader supporting both local execution and enterprise-wide safety consistency.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Reporting directly to the President of Arcadia, the HSSE Manager will play a critical role in driving a proactive safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing operational risk, and advancing environmental stewardship across the organization.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>This position will also partner closely with Human Resources to manage and coordinate the Workers&rsquo; Compensation process, including injury reporting, claim management, and return-to-work programs.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>Enterprise HSSE Leadership</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Develop and execute HSSE strategy aligned with Arcadia&rsquo;s operational and business objectives across all U.S. sites.</li><li>Establish consistent safety standards, policies, and performance expectations nationwide.</li><li>Serve as a trusted advisor to the President and senior leadership on HSSE risks, trends, and priorities.</li><li>Lead cross-site safety initiatives, committees, and continuous improvement programs.</li></ul><p><strong>California Compliance &amp; Site Leadership</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Serve as the organization&rsquo;s primary expert on Cal/OSHA, California environmental regulations, and local agency requirements.</li><li>Ensure full compliance for Vernon operations while supporting California-specific needs across the enterprise.</li><li>Lead regulatory inspections, audits, and interactions with state and federal agencies.</li><li>Monitor regulatory changes and proactively update internal programs and policies.</li></ul><p><strong>Health &amp; Safety Management</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Oversee hazard identification, risk assessments, job safety analyses (JSAs), and corrective action programs.</li><li>Lead incident reporting, investigations, root cause analysis, and preventative action implementation.</li><li>Drive reduction in recordable injuries, near misses, and operational risk through proactive safety programs.</li><li>Track and report key safety performance indicators.</li></ul><p><strong>Workers&rsquo; Compensation &amp; Injury Management Partnership</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Partner closely with HR to manage the Workers&rsquo; Compensation process from injury reporting through claim resolution.</li><li>Coordinate timely claim reporting, documentation, investigations, and communications with carriers and third-party administrators.</li><li>Support return-to-work, modified duty, and injury recovery programs to reduce lost time and support employee well-being.</li><li>Analyze injury and claims trends to identify prevention opportunities and reduce overall cost of risk.</li><li>Ensure compliance with California Workers&rsquo; Compensation requirements and reporting timelines.</li></ul><p><strong>Environmental Compliance &amp; Sustainability</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Oversee environmental compliance programs including hazardous waste management, stormwater compliance, air permitting, and chemical handling.</li><li>Maintain accurate environmental documentation, reporting, and recordkeeping across jurisdictions.</li><li>Support sustainability initiatives and environmental impact reduction efforts.</li></ul><p><strong>Security &amp; Emergency Preparedness</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Coordinate facility security standards and risk mitigation protocols.</li><li>Lead emergency response planning, drills, and crisis readiness across sites.</li><li>Ensure preparedness for fire, chemical release, natural disasters, and other emergency events.</li></ul><p><strong>Training, Auditing &amp; Continuous Improvement</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Develop and implement standardized HSSE training programs across all locations, including:<ul type=\"circle\"><li>OSHA/Cal/OSHA compliance</li><li>Lockout/tagout</li><li>Hazard communication</li><li>Confined space entry</li><li>PPE and machine safety</li><li>Emergency response</li></ul></li><li>Conduct internal audits and ensure timely corrective action closure.</li><li>Support ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems where applicable.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p><strong>Required</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Environmental Health &amp; Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field.</li><li>5+ years of progressive HSSE experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.</li><li>Demonstrated multi-site or enterprise-level safety leadership experience.</li><li>Strong working knowledge of Cal/OSHA and California environmental regulations.</li><li>Experience partnering with HR on Workers&rsquo;
