The employer reserves the right to assign or otherwise modify the duties assigned to this classification.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Summary of Position:</strong></p><p>The position of Lifeguard is a vital role that ensures the safety of guests by supervising swimming activities and by ensuring policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed at all times. Lifeguards must be prepared to act responsibly in emergency situations, prevent emergencies from arising, and enforce all facility rules.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Supervises swimming activities at the facility and ensures that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.</li><li>Warns swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforces pool regulations and water safety policies.</li><li>Administers first aid in the event of injury, rescues swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administers CPR and/or &nbsp;Automated External Defibrillator, if necessary.</li><li>Evaluates conditions for safety and initiates aquatics emergency action plan as required.</li><li>Inspects pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure that they are safe and usable.</li><li>Assists with chlorine residual water tests, records, charts of water tests and recording of accidents.&nbsp;</li><li>Adds chemicals to pool water as directed.</li><li>Preforms light cleaning of pool facility.&nbsp;</li><li>Instructs or assists classes in fundamentals of swimming as needed.</li><li>Able to resolve conflicts to ensure a safe pool environment.&nbsp;</li><li>Remain alert with no lapses of consciousness.&nbsp;</li><li>Able to work and make decisions independently as well as in a team atmosphere.</li><li>Other required duties as assigned.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><br></p>",
