Description
Position Overview Inabia is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join its Rehabilitation Therapy team. The COTA works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to assist residents in improving functional abilities and regaining independence following illness, injury, or surgery.
The facility provides short-term rehabilitation and long-term care services , focusing on improving quality of life and supporting patient recovery.
Key Responsibilities Implement occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
Assist residents with therapeutic activities designed to improve strength, coordination, mobility, and daily living skills .
Provide therapy focused on self-care activities, functional mobility, and adaptive techniques .
Monitor and document patient progress and therapy outcomes .
Educate residents and caregivers on home exercise programs and adaptive equipment .
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and treatment notes according to regulatory and facility guidelines.
Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to support comprehensive patient care and recovery goals .
Qualifications Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Active California COTA license required.
Previous experience in skilled nursing, post-acute care, or rehabilitation preferred.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and patient care skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary rehabilitation environment .
