We empower commercial and industrial companies to reach their net-zero goals while securing long-term energy savings. We are building a phenomenal team to do something magnificent together, and we make sure to savour the journey along the way.<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Role purpose</span></p>\n<p>The opportunity is within the SIPPs department of NOA, which is responsible (among others) for sourcing energy from Independent Power Producers (IPPs) on behalf of NOA Trading. NOA Trading aggregates energy from numerous power producers and sells that energy to private sector offtakers. The PPA Origination Lead is responsible for all sourcing activities to ensure that NOA has access to cost-competitive, timely and reliable energy sources as required by the business strategy.<br><br></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Accountabilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead NOA’s efforts to procure energy (through short and long-term PPAs) from Independent Power Producers (Wind, PV and BESS).</li>\n<li>Set procurement strategy along with Head of Development.</li>\n<li>Take the lead in building and maintaining relationships with IPPs.</li>\n<li>Identify opportunities through partnerships or competitive RFP processes.</li>\n<li>Analyse pricing, tariff structures, escalation mechanisms, and risk allocation.</li>\n<li>Negotiate commercial transactions with IPPs.</li>\n<li>Prepare presentation material for NOA IC to secure approvals for transaction.</li>\n<li>Work with legal, finance, and capital teams to progress PPAs to execution and compliance.</li>\n<li>Take full responsibility for negotiating attractive commercial positions for NOA and managing the process to GPPA signature (but will have the support of the NOA legal team and external council).<br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Specific Requirements</span></p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Appropriate qualification in Engineering, Law, Development, Business or Finance.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Experience:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have 3-6 year’s experience in Renewable energy space</li>\n<li>Must be familiar with GPPA contracts</li>\n<li>Must be commercially astute</li>\n<li>Knowledge of the Eskom grid and capacity constraints will be valuable</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Industry knowledge, technical competence and skills:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Above average commercial awareness within the renewable industry advantageous</li>\n<li>Competent with Excel &amp; Powerpoint</li>\n<li>Strong project management skills are essential</li>\n<li>Behavioural Competencies / Performance Drivers:</li>\n<li>Detailed oriented</li>\n<li>Self-motivated</li>\n<li>Ability to work independently</li>\n<li>Ability to understand grasp and understand processes</li>\n<li>Must be self-driven and structured</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Why join NOA?</span></p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">A Once-in-a-Career Mission:</span><br>Joining NOA is an invitation to be part of a growing team at the very forefront of the South African renewable energy industry.
