Applicants must be able to fulfill the hybrid requirement of working out of our Montpelier, Vermont office.&nbsp;</span></strong></p><p data-pasted=\"true\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\"><strong>JOB SUMMARY</strong></span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Manage the team who develop and maintain the systems used to support various business functions of the company.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\"><strong>DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></span></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Manage a team of 6-12 resources in the development and support of technology capabilities.</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Guide developers on coding best practices such as: design patterns, code reviews, security, unit tests, etc.</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Provide guidance around modern cloud-driven development practices, micro services, CI/CD and DevOps practices</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Plan, implement, supervise, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate software development and maintenance activities and projects</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Be responsible for the developer team, including hiring, promoting, managing performance, providing regular team member feedback, mentoring and planning work assignments</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Confer regularly with the Director of Engineering and Enterprise Architect to plan coordinate and evaluate projects/systems/activities, exchange information, investigate and resolve problems, provide technical assistance, etc.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Provide thought leadership on development platform strategy and toolsets by researching applicable new technologies, evaluating software options against corporate needs and making purchase recommendations</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Assist in planning and administering Information Technology department operating budgets that pertain to assigned areas of responsibility.</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Keep up-to-date on relevant technological developments in the field.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Special projects and other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:.5in;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\"><br></span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\"><strong>SUPERVISION RECEIVED</strong></span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Functional and administrative supervision of 6-12 resources.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\"><em>&nbsp;</em><strong>SUPERVISION RECEIVED</strong></span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">General supervision is received from the Director of Engineering.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\"><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></span></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in computer science or other appropriate discipline, plus 5 to 7 years of relevant technical and management/supervisory experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Experience as a manager, technical lead, or project lead within software development.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Experience managing or working with off-shore development teams (India specifically).&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Excellent communication skills - interpersonal, oral, written and presentation.</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Knowledge of UI frameworks (e.g. Angular, React) is a plus.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Practical experience with relational database technologies preferably MSSQL.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Working knowledge of utilizing Software Configuration Management (SCM) tools for software development (e.g. Git, Subversion).&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Experience with one of more cloud based platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, VMWare, Google Cloud, OpenStack) especially in regards to migration of a traditional architecture to a cloud based platform</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">AWS experience is a major plus especially experience beyond the common services (e.g. EC2, S3).&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Experienced with the Agile/Scrum development methodology using Agile tools (e.g. Jira, Rally, Confluence, etc.).&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Team player.
