Our employees work with Atlassian, not for Atlassian.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>What you’ll lead</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Own the technical strategy for complex government opportunities, partnering with account teams, channel partners, and systems integrators across federal, state, and local accounts.</p></li>\n <li><p>Lead executive and technical discovery to understand agency missions, modernization priorities, security posture, compliance requirements, roadmaps, and success criteria.</p></li>\n <li><p>Design outcome-based solution narratives that connect Atlassian’s platform to secure collaboration, ITSM, DevSecOps, agile-at-scale, cloud modernization, and AI-enabled ways of working.</p></li>\n <li><p>Build trusted advisor relationships with agency executives, CIOs, CISOs, architects, program leaders, and technical evaluators.</p></li>\n <li><p>Guide customers through architecture, integration, migration, identity, security, data residency, FedRAMP, ATO, and government-compliant deployment considerations.</p></li>\n <li><p>Deliver compelling demos, workshops, proof points, and technical validation plans that clearly show business value and reduce risk in the buying process.</p></li>\n <li><p>Shape cross-product expansion strategies across agencies, departments, programs, and partner ecosystems.</p></li>\n <li><p>Drive technical execution for RFP/RFI responses, contract vehicle support, security reviews, compliance documentation, and partner-led pursuits.</p></li>\n <li><p>Mentor other Solutions Engineers, share reusable assets and best practices, and raise the technical bar for the Government pre-sales team.</p></li>\n <li><p>Capture customer feedback, product gaps, competitive intelligence, and public sector market insights, then influence product and go-to-market teams.</p></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>What we’re looking for</strong></p>\n<p>We’re looking for an experienced pre-sales technical leader who can operate at senior level scope: independently owning complex opportunities, influencing senior stakeholders, mentoring peers, and helping shape how Atlassian wins in the public sector.</p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>8+ years of experience in pre-sales, solutions engineering, solution architecture, or technical consulting, with significant experience supporting public sector or regulated customers.</p></li>\n <li><p>Proven ability to own large, complex, multi-stakeholder opportunities from discovery through technical validation and close.</p></li>\n <li><p>Executive presence and strong communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for agency leaders, CIOs, CISOs, enterprise architects, developers, IT teams, and procurement stakeholders.</p></li>\n <li><p>Deep technical credibility across enterprise SaaS, cloud architecture, integrations, identity and access management, security, data governance, migrations, and platform adoption.</p></li>\n <li><p>Strong understanding of government compliance and security frameworks such as FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST 800-53, CMMC, IL2/IL4/IL5, or StateRAMP.</p></li>\n <li><p>Experience supporting ATO processes, security reviews, RFP/RFI responses, contract vehicles, systems integrators, and public sector channel partners.</p></li>\n <li><p>Ability to translate complex mission, operational, and technical requirements into clear solution strategies, value hypotheses, and measurable success outcomes.</p></li>\n <li><p>Track record of mentoring peers, creating reusable field assets, improving sales motions, and influencing product or go-to-market strategy based on customer insight.</p></li>\n <li><p>Customer-first mindset, strong business judgment, and the confidence to challenge assumptions while building trusted long-term relationships.</p></li>\n <li><p>U.S. citizenship is required. An active security clearance, or the ability to obtain one, is a plus.</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Why this role matters</strong></p>\n<p>As a Senior Solutions Engineer, this role matters because you’ll help government leaders make confident technology decisions, reduce modernization risk, and deliver secure, measurable mission outcomes with Atlassian solutions.</p>\n<p><strong>Compensation</strong></p>\n<p>At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience.</p>\n<p>In the<strong> United States</strong>, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:</p>\n<p>Zone A: $168,300 - $219,725</p>\n<p>Zone B: $151,200 - $197,400</p>\n<p>Zone C: $139,500 - $182,125</p>\n<p>This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.</p>\n<p>Please visit go.atlassian.com/payzones for more information on which locations are included in each of our geographic pay zones.
