    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<div><strong>Position Title:&nbsp; Bus Monitor</strong></div><div><strong>Division:&nbsp; Operations/Transportation</strong></div><div><strong>Reports To:&nbsp; Route Supervisor</strong></div><div><strong>FLSA Status:&nbsp; Non-Exempt</strong></div><div><strong>Salary Schedule:&nbsp; Hourly</strong></div><div><strong>Work Days:&nbsp; 178</strong></div><div><br>&nbsp;</div><p><strong>Essential Duties:</strong></p><div><ul><li>Assist bus drivers on each route to ensure the physical and emotional safety of students.&nbsp;</li><li>Attend training meetings as required by the Director of Transportation.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Assist with loading and unloading of students. This assistance may include, but is not limited to, lifting, seating, safety belting, etc. of students.</li><li>Become familiar with, and demonstrate competence in, operating special equipment needed to transport students. This special equipment may include, but is not limited to, wheelchairs, mobility chairs, and lifts.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Assist the bus driver in conducting emergency evacuation drills as required by the Transportation Department.</li><li>Communicate effectively and professionally with school staff, students, and the public.</li><li>Legibly and accurately complete required reports on a timely basis.&nbsp;</li><li>Know, understand, and practice the expectations outlined in the Bus Monitor Duties and Responsibilities document.&nbsp;</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.&nbsp;</li></ul></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong>Qualifications:&nbsp;</strong></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><ul><li>Minimum of a High School Diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE).&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to work well with staff, students, parents, and other stakeholders.&nbsp;</li><li>Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.&nbsp;</li><li>&nbsp;Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to be present at the physical worksite.&nbsp;</li><li>Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.&nbsp;</li><li>Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 60 pounds.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.&nbsp;</li><li>Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.</li></ul></div>",
