About the Role Otto Aerospace is seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer to support the fuselage cockpit assembly Flight Test Vehicle (FTV) builds of the Phantom 3500. The Associate Manufacturing Engineer will also help the team prepare for low-rate initial production (LRIP) and full rate production (FRP) at the Final Assembly Integration and Test (FAIT) Facility, in Jacksonville, Florida.   The Associate Manufacturing Engineer role will contribute to the successful completion of major projects that support strategic priorities and technical objectives for the Phantom 3500 fuselage cockpit assembly. Working under general direction, the individual possesses basic knowledge in manufacturing engineering and assembly technical areas and can learn to develop imaginative manufacturing processes or tooling designs. The individual will support Manufacturing Engineering technical POCs on projects, programs and/or cross functional teams. What You'll Do Complete 3DX training and learn how to create an MBOM, BOP, and create work instructions Complete composite bonder training and fabricate composite parts to support manufacturing trials Assist in developing and executing plans for manufacturing trials Learn and execute design for manufacturability (DFM), producibility analysis, and manufacturing trade studies to determine cost effective solutions to complex manufacturing technical objectives using a variety of data and analysis techniques Identify, report and resolve potential safety and quality hazards/risks Work through a disciplined approach in initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing tasks and projects to achieve specific goals aligned to program/IPT success criteria Work and deliverables are reviewed and checked through team leadership and functional management to adequately meet objectives Who You Are Education Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering or Engineering Technologies Experience 0-2 years in aerospace or related manufacturing industry experience Proficiency in MS Office tools of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio and Outlook Some experience with 3D modeling-CATIA 3DX or V5/V6, and Delmia preferred Ability to interpret engineering drawings, test plans, and technical procedures Strong mechanical aptitude- preferably with high level knowledge or understanding of composite manufacturing and assembly processes Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Effective communication and excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset Continuous learning mindset Required Skills Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Make prompt, informed, and value-based decisions for the project Organization: Focus on agenda, schedules, frameworks, and methodologies, as well as communicating tasks, updates, progress, and blockers Self-Motivation: A high level of commitment and motivation to see tasks through from start to finish Teamwork and Team Building: Establish a collaborative culture where people with unique personalities and skills happily work together and accountable to shared goal Strong Business Communication: Use the right language, tone and storytelling techniques when communicating, describing, or explaining issues over email, chat, reports, presentations and other forms and channels of communication Where You'll Be This role is hybrid on-site at our facility at Meacham Airport in Ft Worth, TX until mid/late 2026, at which time it will transition to full onsite in Jacksonville, FL.
