In this role, you will work as part of multidisciplinary team of experts to solve complex metallurgical, materials science, and materials engineering problems and advise clients on their product and process lifecycles, with a focus on failure analysis, performance, and reliability.  You will lead projects, identify new clients, build on relationships with existing clients, and develop new business in related areas.</p>\n<h2>You will be responsible for</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Using expertise in metallurgical engineering and materials science to solve diverse and often complex materials problems affecting a range of clients </li>\n <li>Identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities</li>\n <li>Attracting, developing, and enhancing new projects and clients, particularly in oil and gas</li>\n <li>Developing and mentoring staff in both technical and business areas</li>\n <li>Providing project management and project budget oversight</li>\n <li>Leading hands-on failure analyses, materials characterization, metallurgical analysis, and field inspections, and communicating results to internal and external stakeholders</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>You will have the following skills and qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>M.S. in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or related discipline</li>\n <li>Professional Engineering license is required</li>\n <li>6 or more years of relevant experience in consulting with a proven track record of attracting new and repeat clients or funding</li>\n <li>Strong background in materials characterization techniques (e.g. metallography, SEM, EDS, FIB, and/or X-ray radiography/diffraction, etc.) and failure analysis (e.g. fractography, metallurgical analyses, etc.)</li>\n <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li>\n <li>Outstanding reputation among clients and the scientific community for integrity, responsiveness, and technical expertise</li>\n <li>Adept management abilities and demonstrated project management experience</li>\n <li>Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects</li>\n <li>Strong commitment to professional development </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Applicants are encouraged to submit a CV (Curriculum Vitae) with publications (feel free to include publications that are in review or pending) [not restricted to 1 page].</em></p>\n<h2>Life @ Exponent</h2>\n<p>To learn more about life at Exponent and our impact, please visit the following links:https://www.exponent.com/careers/life-exponenthttps://www.exponent.com/company/our-impact</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We value and encourage diversity, equity and inclusion across all facets of our firm. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent.
