Camp Butternut Springs is a place where energetic and passionate staff come together to provide a safe and positive learning environment for girls ages 5-17.  </p><p style=\"text-align:center;\">As a camp Adventure Course Facilitator, you will supervise and guide campers and counselors through progressive teambuilding, low challenge course activities, and high adventure course activities (climbing wall, zipline, high ropes) on the Albert C. Hanna Adventure Course.</p><p></p><p><strong>Work Commitment: </strong></p><p>Dates: June 1-August 2</p><ul><li>Includes staff training</li><li>Camp is closed June 19 and July 4-6; these days are unpaid</li><li>Staff have the opportunity to begin work as early as March 23, 2026 and end as late as October to assist with weekend adventure course programming for user groups</li></ul>Typical Weekly Schedule: 11:00 a.m. Sunday-7:00 p.m. Friday<ul><li>Daily 2-hour break Monday-Thursday</li><li>Staff who choose to commute rather than live on-site typically work 40 hours a week, between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.; actual daily shifts vary and will be determined in conversation with the Camp Director.</li><li>Staff are required to work Saturday, August 1; Saturday work opportunities are also available on July 11 and July 25</li><li>March-May and August-October work will typically take place Friday evenings-Sunday afternoon</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Camp Staff Benefits: </strong></p><ul><li>Pay: $115 per day ($105 per day if commuting)</li><li>Included room and board for staff 18+ living on-site</li><li><p>Adventure Course training </p></li><li><p>First Aid and CPR certifications </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Access to GSGCNWI Employee Assistance Program </p></li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Qualifications: </strong></p><ul><li><p>Loves to interact with children and has prior experience working with children of various ages </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Enjoys spending time outdoors and has prior experience working in an outdoor setting </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Must be 18+ years old as of June 1, 2026, and possess a high school diploma or GED </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Prior experience or an interest in facilitating teambuilding activities, low ropes course programs with a focus on teamwork, trust, and cooperation, belaying, rock climbing, and high ropes course programs </p></li><li><p>Current ropes course instructor certification or ability to complete adventure course facilitator training at our facility</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Must attend, participate in and successfully demonstrate required skills during pre-season mandatory adventure course facilitator training in March.  </p></li><li><p>Willingness to live and work in an indoor and outdoor camp setting, which includes working irregular hours with limited or simple equipment, rustic facilities, wildlife and insects; limited technology while at camp, and daily exposure to sun, rain, and other weather conditions </p></li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Responsibilities: </strong></p><ul><li><p>Provide fun, positive and active leadership to campers </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Help build a supportive environment where campers can grow, make new friends, and try new things </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Role model problem-solving, collaboration, and initiative to campers </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Responsible for planning, teaching, coordinating, and carrying out low and high ropes activities.   </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Teach and monitor proper use of climbing tower and ropes course elements and equipment.   </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Follow standard rules applicable to ropes course.
