We also support the most demanding OEMs in the commercial aviation industry.</p><p><strong>We offer a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and bonus.</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Join one of the fastest-growing aerospace companies by</strong> <strong>applying now</strong> <strong>!</strong> <strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Environmental Health and Safety Specialist</strong></p><p><strong>Department</strong><strong>:</strong> Human Resources</p><p><strong>Department/ Area:</strong> Manufacturing and Administration</p><p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p><p>We are seeking a qualified and motivated individual to coordinate environmental, health, and safety programs, inspections, training, audits and hazard assessments related to CAL OSHA and environmental requirements in support of established safety policies and practices ensuring the wellbeing of employees, contractors and visitors.</p><p><strong>What You Will Do</strong><strong>:</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p>&middot; Works with the Human Resource Manager, General Manager, and Directors to continue to build and sustain a strong safety culture through loss analysis</p><p>&middot; Interact with all levels of the organization and uphold a positive safety and environmental work environment.</p><p>&middot; Handle safety related activity and initiatives in a collaborative manner to create a culture of interdependence and to create a high-performance workplace.</p><p>&middot; Ensure that EHS incidents and significant near misses are communicated appropriately and investigated with corrective actions monitored and tracked to closure.</p><p>&middot; Communicate and initiate improvements based on trends in audit findings, corrective actions, and best practices.</p><p>&middot; Ensure compliance to CAL OSHA, LA City/County CUPA, LA County Department of Public Health, SCAQMD and other safety regulations that apply to the facility.</p><p>&middot; Maintain training records &amp; updates training materials, incident report tracking, and updates facility regulatory programs</p><p>&middot; Perform timely investigations of incidents identification of root cause and rapid correction</p><p>&middot; Provide guidance and technical expertise to ensure compliance with EHS regulations.</p><p>&middot; Perform all other duties as assigned to support manufacturing</p><p>&middot; Responsible for case management of workers&rsquo; comp claims and maintained ongoing communication with claim adjusters and attorney to minimize lost time, claim cost, and attended applicant&rsquo;s deposition</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p><p>&middot; At least 1 year of experience with safety or health systems in manufacturing and warehousing environment</p><p>&middot; At least 1 year of experience with environmental compliances in manufacturing and warehousing environment</p><p>&middot; Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel &amp; PowerPoint</p><p>&middot; Workers&#39; compensation experience.</p><p>&middot; Good working knowledge of CAL OSHA, LA City/County CUPA, LA County Department of Public Health, and SCAQMD</p><p>&middot; Strong demonstrated passion for safety, a willingness to learn and be developed in a fast-paced demanding environment</p><p>&middot; Experience leading training and development initiatives in the field of Environment, Health, or Safety</p><p>&middot; Experience in project leadership</p><p>&middot; Demonstrate team orientation; proactively communicate and willing to be flexible to meet business needs.</p><p>&middot; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p><p>&middot; OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certificate</p><p>&middot; DOT 10 Hour Hazmat Transportation Certificate</p><p>&middot; Certification as a Safety Professional</p><p>&middot; Experience working in and driving continuous improvement</p><p>&middot; Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred</p><p><strong>Reporting Relationships:</strong> Reports to General Manager and Human Resource Manager</p><p><strong>Working Conditions:</strong> 80% Manufacturing Environment and 20% Office Environment</p><p><em>This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by this employee.
