You’ll work across earthworks, utilities, and road construction projects throughout the region, and report to the Occupational Health & Safety Manager. This is a field-based role. You’ll be on-site daily, building relationships with crews, identifying hazards before they become incidents, and making sure every worker goes home safe .

Monitor high-risk work activities including excavation and trenching, traffic control, heavy equipment operations, fall protection, confined space entry, and hot work
Report hazards to supervision and follow up to confirm corrective actions are completed
Worker Orientation & Training
Deliver site safety orientations for new workers, subcontractors, and visitors
Assist with toolbox talks, safety meetings, and task-specific safety briefings
Ensure workers understand their rights and responsibilities under the Workers Compensation Act
Incident Reporting & Investigation
Respond to workplace incidents and near misses
Participate in incident investigations in accordance with OHSR Part 3 requirements
Help identify root causes and corrective actions, and ensure reports are completed and submitted
Safety Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate safety records including inspection reports, hazard assessments, incident reports, first aid records, training records, and equipment inspection logs
Oversee Salus entries to ensure inspections, incidents, and corrective actions are properly documented
Emergency Preparedness
Support site emergency response procedures, drills, and evacuation planning
Ensure emergency equipment including first aid kits, eyewash stations, and fire extinguishers are available and maintained
