Description
Job Summary
To serve as a direct point of contact for customers and process orders through a variety of
means such as, in person, telephone, fax or mail correspondence. Provide exceptional
service to all customers through application of general product knowledge and a genuine
interest to please. Handle complaints as directed by management.
Duties and Responsibilitie s
1. Accepts customer orders (including walk-ins) and generates picking slips.
2. Forwards purchase orders to accounts department for filing.
3. Balances collections of the previous day with individual account report (each
morning) before forwarding to accounts department.
4. Follows up on customers for payment on returned cheques (as assigned).
5. Notifies customers of products when restocked.
6. Advises customers of new products and special offerings.
7. Provides regular feedback to manager on customer complaints.
8. Keeps work area clean and tidy at all times.
9. Keeps appropriate records relating to the discharge of his/her responsibilities.
10. Executes any other duty assigned by management.
Organizational Relationships
This position reports directly to the Sales & Service Manager (Consumer). He/she liaises
regularly with management and divisional employees such as accounts, warehouse,
marketing and sales staff.
Requirements - Education and Experience
He/she must have a high school diploma or general education certificate with one year’s
work experience. Basic understanding of the consumer/wholesale industry is desirable.
Must have a professional demeanor, multi-task oriented, with good communication skills
and problem solving abilities. He/she must be a self-motivated team player proficient in
basic computer applications.
Physical and Emotional Demands
He/she must have the physical ability and emotional intelligence to perform the essential
functions of the job which may include but not limited to being in front of a computer
monitor for long periods. This position requires dealing with difficult personalities and
conflicts while maintaining a consistently professional and calm demeanor.
