In this role, investigators are responsible for conducting POST-compliant background investigations that include interviews of applicants, relatives, neighbors, employers and co-workers; and the verification of education, employment, and military experience. Investigators prepare and submit typed reports on their findings.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;<strong>Duties:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Conduct background investigations for public safety positions that conform to Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) guidelines.</li><li>Collect required documents and evidence, and analyze findings resulting from investigative activities.&nbsp;</li><li>Conduct follow-up investigations and interviews when required regarding any negative information or discrepancies; conduct discrepancy interviews.</li><li>Prepare written background investigation reports that are clear and concise. Reports must comply with all federal, and state consumer reporting law compliance matters, including POST guidelines.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Skills and Experience:</strong></p><p>Required:</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>POST Background Certification- MUST show proof of successful completion the POST-Certified background investigations course. Course must be a minimum of 32 hours. &nbsp;</li><li>Ability to use tact and discretion when interviewing</li><li>Experience conducting law enforcement or firefighter background investigations.</li><li>Excellent writing skills &ndash; narrative reporting skills necessary.</li><li>Basic computer experience and working knowledge of MS Word and Outlook</li></ul><p>&nbsp;Desired:</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or higher&nbsp;education.</li><li>Prior Law Enforcement experience in backgrounds and or Investigations</li><li>Intermediate or Advanced POST coursework or certifications</li><li>Advanced computer experience and working knowledge of MS word, Excel, and Outlook</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;<strong>Salary and Benefits:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Pay is based on per project basis, ranging from $150 to $800 per applicant, depending on report type.</li><li>Remote work is possible</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
