This role works under the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist and contributes to maintaining accurate and timely testing procedures.</span></p><h1 style='margin-top:24.0pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:0in;text-indent:0in;font-size:21px;font-family:\"Calibri\",sans-serif;color:#345A8A;'><span style=\"font-weight:normal;\">RESPONSIBILITIES</span></h1><p style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Cambria\",serif;'><span style=\"font-size:15px;font-family:Helvetica;color:black;\">Under the supervision and</span><span style=\"font-size:15px;font-family:Helvetica;\">&nbsp;direction <span style=\"color:black;\">of a <em>Licensed Clinical Laboratory&nbsp;</em></span><em>Scientist</em>, the Laboratory Assistant may perform the following duties:</span></p><ul style=\"margin-bottom:0in;margin-top:0in;\" type=\"disc\"><li style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Cambria\",serif;'><span style=\"font-size:15px;\">Properly route, handle, and process a variety of medical specimens in accordance with laboratory protocols</span></li><li style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Cambria\",serif;'><span style=\"font-size:15px;\">Batch and prepare samples prior to instrument loading or handoff to technical staff</span></li><li style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Cambria\",serif;'><span style=\"font-size:15px;\">Load patient samples and quality controls onto automated laboratory instruments</span></li><li style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Cambria\",serif;'><span style=\"font-size:15px;\">Assist in notifying clients of critical values per laboratory policy and ensure appropriate documentation</span></li><li style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Cambria\",serif;'><span style=\"font-size:15px;\">Archive specimens in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and dispose of them according to specimen retention policies</span></li><li style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Cambria\",serif;'><span style=\"font-size:15px;\">Monitor LIS backlogs at least every 30 minutes to identify and escalate delayed priority samples</span></li><li style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Cambria\",serif;'><span style=\"font-size:15px;\">Adhere to all laboratory policies, procedures, safety guidelines, and quality assurance standards</span></li><li style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Cambria\",serif;'><span style=\"font-size:15px;\">Support laboratory staff with miscellaneous tasks as needed to ensure smooth operation</span></li><li style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Cambria\",serif;'><span style=\"font-size:15px;\">May be required to work weekends, holidays, overtime, or split shifts based on operational needs</span></li><li style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Cambria\",serif;'><span style=\"font-size:15px;\">Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management</span></li></ul><h1 style='margin-top:24.0pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:0in;text-indent:0in;font-size:21px;font-family:\"Calibri\",sans-serif;color:#345A8A;text-align:justify;'><span style=\"font-weight:normal;\">REQUIREMENTS</span></h1><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: -0.25in;\"><li><span style='font-family:\"Cambria\",serif;font-size:15px;'>High school diploma or GED required</span></li><li><span style='font-family:\"Cambria\",serif;font-size:15px;'>Associate of Science or Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university preferred</span></li><li><span style='font-family:\"Cambria\",serif;font-size:15px;'>Minimum of two (2) years&rsquo;
