    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">ASSISTANT ATTORNEY GENERAL</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">HEALTH CARE &amp; FAIR COMPETITION BUREAU</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">MEDICAID FRAUD DIVISION</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell is seeking a highly motivated attorney to join her Medicaid Fraud Division as an Assistant Attorney General to handle complex criminal and civil enforcement actions related to allegations of fraud against the state Medicaid program and allegations of abuse, neglect, and misappropriation of funds occurring in long-term care facilities and from Medicaid members in health care settings.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Primary Duties</span>: The Assistant Attorney General will be responsible for managing a caseload of complex civil and criminal matters. Key responsibilities include partnering with federal and state agencies and civilian investigators to investigate allegations of fraud against the state Medicaid program and allegations of abuse, neglect, and misappropriation of funds occurring in long-term care facilities and from Medicaid members in health care settings.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">The Assistant Attorney General will conduct criminal and civil investigations, including drafting administrative demands, civil investigative demands, grand jury subpoenas, prosecution memoranda, and search warrants, presenting evidence to grand juries, and engaging in settlement and plea negotiations. The Assistant Attorney General will also litigate criminal and civil enforcement actions, including handling pretrial motions and discovery, drafting legal memoranda on motions to dismiss, motions to suppress, motions <em>in limine</em>, and summary judgment motions, and conducting bench and jury trials in both courts across the Commonwealth.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Position Requirements</span>:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Must be a member of the Massachusetts Bar.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Three (3) to six (6) years of civil litigation experience or criminal prosecution experience, including conducting grand jury investigations and superior court trials, preferred.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Background in complex civil litigation, health care fraud litigation, and False Claims Act litigation preferred.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Excellent oral and written advocacy skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Self-motivated with the ability to exercise sound judgment and decision making.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Ability to work independently and collaboratively.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"><em>Applicants must be Massachusetts Bar eligible at the time of application and must apply for admission before their start date.
