From roadway and drainage improvements to water, wastewater, and utility systems, our Public Works group provides innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective engineering solutions that make a lasting difference for municipalities, counties, and regional agencies across Texas.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) to join our Public Works Department in Houston, TX. In this role, you will support the planning, design, and production of municipal infrastructure projects, including roadways, drainage systems, utilities, and site improvements. Working under the guidance of licensed engineers and project managers, you’ll gain hands-on experience in all phases of project development—helping deliver innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable solutions that enhance communities across the region.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and update engineering plans, reports, specifications, and cost estimates. Perform engineering calculations, quantity takeoffs, and technical analyses. Collaborate with internal design teams and regulatory agencies to ensure quality and compliance with applicable standards. Support project coordination efforts, including scheduling, document control, and permitting assistance. Conduct field visits and assist with construction observation, data collection, and record documentation. Work closely with senior engineers to ensure technical accuracy and adherence to project objectives.
