    "description_html": "<p><strong>GENERAL</strong></p><p>· Evaluate all patients admitted to the ICU and provide bedside consultation when consulted by physicians.</p><p>· Provide a comprehensive assessment and plan for management in written or dictated form on evaluated patients.</p><p>· Mandatory use of our electronic billing software system for each applicable patient encounter. Failure to do so may result in a delay of compensation.</p><p>· Compliance with key critical care initiatives such as surviving sepsis protocols and core measure initiative (CHF, Pneumonia, Acute coronary syndrome, etc.)</p><p>· Conduct multidisciplinary rounds with ICU management team making specific mention of treatment plan and patient disposition/discharge plan.</p><p>· Proficiency in central line and arterial line placement, beside ultrasonography for line placement, endotracheal intubation and other pertinent procedures.</p><p>· Develops collaborative relationships with primary, consulting, &amp; referring physicians, facility leadership, and clinical ancillary staff and facilitates their interactions with the Intensivist.</p><p>· Compliance with medical records completion within guidelines.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>LEADERSHIP</strong></p><p>· Practices with a team-model in the ICU when providing close communication with the nursing and ancillary staff, addressing their concerns and maintaining a positive ICU working environment.</p><p>· Communicates regularly with primary care and consulting physicians and mainstreams the patient care plan.</p><p>· Serving as a role model for clinical practice and referral acceptance.</p><p>· Helping to orient new Intensivist.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>CLINICAL</strong></p><p>· Accept patient referrals and coordinate all aspects of care for ICU patients referred by medical staff members, primary care physicians, surgeons and consultants.</p><p>· Appropriate placement/triage within the Hospital and to the ICU (i.e. screening inappropriate ICU admissions and timely discharging stable patient from the ICU.</p><p>· Regularly updating patients and their family members and provide supportive and compassionate care.</p><p>· Discussion of end-of-life preferences with the patient and/ or the patient’s legal representative.</p><p>· Consults with other sub-specialists and maintain a positive co-management model for patient care.</p><p>· Practiced within the guidelines of evidence-based medicine considering the cost of healthcare utilization and risk-benefit of procedures or therapeutic modalities.</p><p>· Compliance with Hospital based clinical guidelines/ initiatives.</p><p>· Compliance with timely placement of Central Venous catheters and perform all procedures with strict sterile barrier precautions.</p><p>· Compliance with ventilator bundle and daily spontaneous breathing trial (SBT) on appropriate patients.</p><p>· Be available and respond to provide evaluation and management of unassigned and subscriber medical patients as requested.</p><p>· Provide leadership in the development and implementation of standing orders, clinical protocols, and other clinical effectiveness projects;</p><p>· Collaborate with the Hospital’s Case Management department in maintaining effective utilization and resource management, medical record appropriateness and medical necessity, and proactive discharge planning.</p><p>· Maintain a minimum 85% for CPOE compliance rate.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>CITIZENSHIP</strong></p><p>· Maintain legible, accurate, complete, and timely medical records with respect to all patients examined or treated in accordance with all legal, accreditation, regulatory and third-party payor requirements.</p><p>· Comply with all medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and protocols, and Hospital bylaws, rules and regulations, policies, procedures, and protocols, as such currently exist or are hereinafter amended.</p><p>· Participate as a provider of medical services with third-party payors, including, without limitation, any HMO or PPO, with which facility contracts.</p><p>· Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local statutes, regulations, and other legal requirements as well as any accreditation standards related to Hospital and its Program.</p><p>· Perform such other services as are reasonably assigned by the Program’s Service’s leadership.</p><p>· Conduct self in a manner consistent with and that promotes, Hospital’s Mission and Values at all times.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS</strong></p><p>&nbsp;· Maintain current MD/DO licensure.</p><p>· Maintain Board Certification.</p><p>· Remain an active member of the medical staff in good standing.</p><p>· Perform other job duties as assigned.</p>",
