    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Shimmick is seeking a <strong>Lead</strong><strong> Estimator </strong>to be based remotely/hybrid in the Dallas-Forth Worth area. As a <strong>Lead</strong><strong> Estimator </strong>at Shimmick, you will support project bid activity while reporting to the Director of Estimating. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This role is responsible for compiling, reviewing, analyzing, and quoteing project materials, labor, equipment, data, environmental factors, and overall costs. As project delivery models, regulatory frameworks, supply chains, and technology continue to evolve, our ability to stay flexible and agile in our estimating approach is essential to our success.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Reviews and interprets project drawings, specifications, contracts, and owner-provided documents.</li>\n <li>Develops detailed material take-offs for estimate development and procurement.</li>\n <li>Expected to assist in the preparation of larger and more complex estimating assignments including overall estimating strategy.</li>\n <li>Understands construction means, methods, and sequencing.</li>\n <li>Understands how various constraints may impact the estimate and prepares detailed scope-specific estimates.</li>\n <li>Analyzes and incorporates historical data into production factors.</li>\n <li>Prepares and/or coordinates preparation of estimates. </li>\n <li>Provides mentoring, coaching, and training within the estimating department.</li>\n <li>Prepares scope and bid package breakdowns for trade partners.</li>\n <li>Ability to oversee multiple scopes within the estimate development and leverages past experience to craft estimating strategy.</li>\n <li>Ability to travel for client meetings, bid kickoffs, bid reviews, bid closeouts, interviews, or team workshops as needed.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.</li>\n <li>6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education</li>\n <li>Experience in hard-bid contract work as well as conceptual estimating.</li>\n <li>Understands construction means, methods, and sequences.</li>\n <li>Experience in the water, wastewater, transit, and/or transportation projects.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Excellent project management skills with ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands in deadline-driven environment.</li>\n <li>Previous heavy civil construction experience.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in estimating software (HCSS Heavy Bid or Ineight Estimate).</li>\n <li>Strong problem-solving skills and consistent attention to detail.</li>\n <li>Work independently and effectively to prioritize multiple tasks.</li>\n <li>Highly organized with excellent time management skills.</li>\n <li>Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.</li>\n <li>Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office suite of applications.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p>Additional Information:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>This position is based remotely/hybrid in the Dallas-Forth Worth area.</li>\n <li>Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.</li>\n <li>This position does not include sponsorship for a United States work authorization.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The salary range for this position is between $140,000-$165,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Shimmick offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package designed to support your health, well-being, and financial future.
