    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p><strong>GENERAL DESCRIPTION&nbsp;</strong></p><p>The Pre-op/PACU RN will assist in providing high quality care during the pre-op and post-op phase of the patient&#39;s visit.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES &nbsp;</strong></p><p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:  &nbsp;</p><ul><li>Assess, instruct &amp; prepare patients prior to surgery;&nbsp;</li><li>Ensure that operative and informed consents are signed and correct;&nbsp;</li><li>Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure;&nbsp;</li><li>Assess patients&rsquo; post-operative condition;&nbsp;</li><li>Monitor vital signs and other measurements of progress to ensure patient is meeting discharge criteria;&nbsp;</li><li>Document all findings in patient files;&nbsp;</li><li>Answer patient questions to ensure patient comfort; &nbsp;</li><li>Monitor patients for condition changes, report any changes to physician;&nbsp;</li><li>Perform intervention duties during post-operative emergencies;&nbsp;</li><li>Gather pertinent medical history and provide concise instruction for pre-operative and post-operative care;&nbsp;</li><li>Other responsibilities as needed/assigned. </li></ul><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS &nbsp;</strong></p><p>The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability to perform the essential functions:  &nbsp;</p><ul><li>Current unrestricted NYS RN license;&nbsp;</li><li>Minimum of 2 years previous PACU or critical care experience required;&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to effectively communicate with providers, patients and peers;&nbsp;</li><li>Candidate must demonstrate aptitude for maintaining pace of abbreviated patient encounters, keeping flow to reasonable time frame in post-operative care;&nbsp;</li><li>Specialized knowledge, skill and abilities in perioperative nursing;&nbsp;</li><li>Capable of decision making when applicable. </li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>OTHER INFORMATION&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Schedules are Monday through Friday; No weekends, holidays, or on-call.&nbsp;</li><li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license and vehicle to travel as needed&nbsp;</li></ul><p><br></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><br></p></div>\n",
