Position Overview The Sandblaster – 2nd Shift plays a key role in preparing equipment, machinery, and structural components for high-quality finishing. This position is responsible for using a variety of hand and power tools, along with sandblasting equipment, to remove surface contaminants and ensure materials are properly cleaned and prepped for painting. Work is performed in accordance with project specifications, customer requirements, and internal quality standards, with guidance provided through formal training and team support. Attention to detail and a commitment to doing the job right the first time are essential to success in this role. This is a physically demanding position that requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project needs. The role is based on a second shift schedule, working Monday through Thursday from 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM. This shift includes a $2.00/hour differential and a paid 30-minute lunch break. Flexibility to work additional hours or Saturdays, as needed, is important to support production demands. What You'll Do Safely and efficiently operate assigned equipment Read, understand, and accurately execute work orders and quality assurance (QA) standards per job requirements Sandblast assemblies per industry standards, work orders, specifications, and other instructions Identify and communicate when additional structures are needed to safely perform duties Assist in erecting needed structures for projects, such as scaffolding, rigging, ladders, man and scissor lifts in a manner consistent with safety procedures Secure work pieces to safely perform job functions Monitor machine functions during operation to maintain safety standards Perform quality checks during production to ensure parts/pieces meet tolerance requirements Working Conditions Stand for long periods of time, talk, hear, read, and write Regularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms, kneel, lie down, climb ladders and/or scaffolding Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Work both inside and outside in harsh weather conditions Breathe effectively while wearing a respirator and face mask Wear protective coveralls in a variety of temperature conditions What You'll Bring Previous relevant experience preferred Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Proven ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing Must be dependable, trustworthy, possess a positive attitude, and be willing to work independently or in a team environment Ability to use basic measuring devices such as tape measures Possess knowledge of metal plate types (steel, aluminum, stainless, galvanized, etc.), sizes, and shapes (beams, channels, angles, pipe, flat bar, etc.) preferred Mechanical aptitude preferred Experience with use of an overhead crane and forklift preferred How We'll Support You WE ARE NOW EMPLOYEE OWNED Employees are beneficial owners through an ESOP (Employee Stock Option Plan) that works through a qualified retirement plan.
