    "requisitionDescription": "<p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>Position Summary</strong></p><p>We are seeking an experienced and motivated Marine Upholsterer to lead daily operations within our marine upholstery and canvas department. This is a hands-on leadership role. &nbsp;The ideal candidate combines advanced marine upholstery expertise with strong organizational and leadership skills. &nbsp;Key Responsibilities</p><p><strong>Department Leadership &amp; Operations</strong></p><ul><li>Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the marine upholstery department</li><li>Assign projects, manage workflow, and prioritize production schedules to meet deadlines</li><li>Train, mentor, and support department team members</li><li>Monitor productivity, workmanship, and quality control standards</li><li>Collaborate with management and service advisors regarding project timelines, specifications, and expectations</li><li>Maintain department organization, inventory, and material usage efficiency</li><li>Ensure compliance with company safety standards and safe equipment operation</li><li>Assist in hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations of department personnel</li></ul><p><strong>Upholstery &amp; Fabrication</strong></p><ul><li>Measure, pattern, cut, sew, and assemble marine upholstery and canvas products as needed</li><li>Fabricate and repair cushions, bolsters, seating, enclosures, covers, and related marine soft goods</li><li>Work with marine-grade fabrics, vinyls, foams, threads, and hardware</li><li>Operate industrial sewing machines and upholstery equipment safely and efficiently</li><li>Install finished products on vessels when required</li><li>Repair and modify existing upholstery to match original design and fit</li><li>Read drawings, templates, specifications, and verbal instructions to produce finished products accurately</li><li>Troubleshoot fabrication challenges and provide technical guidance to team members</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Proven experience in marine upholstery, marine canvas fabrication, or related upholstery field</li><li>Prior supervisory, lead technician, or team leadership experience preferred</li><li>Advanced sewing and fabrication skills using industrial sewing machines</li><li>Strong knowledge of marine upholstery materials, techniques, and installation methods</li><li>Ability to manage multiple projects and production schedules simultaneously</li><li>Excellent attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship</li><li>Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills</li><li>Ability to work independently while leading a team effectively</li><li>Physical ability to lift materials and work in both shop and marina environments</li><li>Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious</li><li>Experience with custom marine canvas including biminis, enclosures, and covers</li><li>Familiarity with snap systems, zippers, binding, foam shaping, and patterning</li><li>Previous experience in a boatyard or marine service environment</li><li>Basic computer and estimating skills</li><li>Experience ordering materials and managing inventory</li></ul><p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p><ul><li>Primarily shop-based with occasional onboard vessel work</li><li>Exposure to marine conditions including heat, humidity, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions</li><li>Fast-paced production and service environment with multiple active projects</li></ul><p><strong>Compensation &amp; Benefits</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive pay based on experience and leadership background</li><li>Benefits package available (if applicable)</li><li>Steady, year-round work opportunities</li><li>Opportunities for advancement and department growth</li></ul>\n<br/>7am-3pm",
