Description
As a Research Technician here at Solstice, you will conduct experiments, collect data, and maintain lab equipment, ensuring accurate research findings to drive innovation and new technologies. You will report directly to our R&D Supervisor and you’ll work out of our Buffalo, NY location on a On-Site work schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform laboratory experiments up to kilo-scale involving hazardous materials under the direction of a Chemist or Chemical Engineer
Work includes support for lab experiments, calculations, data analysis, maintaining records, and accurate reporting of data
Perform troubleshooting on kilo-lab scale equipment
Perform routine lab HSE and HOS tasks
Qualifications
You Must Have:
Minimum of a two-year chemistry related degree is required, we value four-year chemistry related degree. Must be able to work safely with hazardous materials including hydrofluoric acid (HF), fluorosulfonic acid (FSA), etc. Must have good chemical knowledge and mechanical aptitude to assemble, run and troubleshoot chemical experiments and equipment Must demonstrate ability to learn and use analytical equipment needed in support of processes including Gas-chromatograph and other laboratory instruments Be able to use computer software such as Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel), and process control software Be able to move up to 600-pound drums and 250-pound gas cylinders utilizing appropriate handling equipment, lift and carry up to 35-pound pails, climb ladders and scaffolding, wear all PPE and respiratory equipment Be able to work rotating 8-hour shifts Must demonstrate ability to learn and use analytical equipment needed in support of processes including Gas-chromatograph and other laboratory instruments COMPENSATION
The annual base pay for this position is $40.59 per hour. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
