Description
Employee Relations Specialist Reports To: Director of Human Resources Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt (Salary) Work Location: On-site at Corporate Office
About Corporate Hospitality Housing (CHH) CHH operates 10+ active camps across Texas and New Mexico, providing exceptional hospitality experiences for the oilfield industry. We are seeking a hands-on Employee Relations Specialist to serve as our dedicated ER resource. This role is field-facing , requiring on-site presence to support managers and employees, conduct investigations, respond to safety incidents, ensure timekeeping accuracy, and resolve escalations professionally and efficiently.
On-Site & Travel Expectations (Essential) Required on-site presence at the corporate office and across camp locations.
Rapid response to injuries, safety incidents, payroll/timekeeping escalations, and ER matters, including possible after-hours follow-up.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (company vehicle or mileage reimbursement per policy).
Ability to navigate active hospitality/industrial environments (walk sites, climb stairs, extended standing).
Responsibilities Investigations & ER Casework Lead impartial investigations on-site (harassment, discrimination, misconduct, policy violations).
Document findings, recommend corrective actions, and close cases on time with stakeholder updates.
Assist in creating, updating, and implementing HR policies and procedures.
Injury Response & Safety Coordinate incident response, OSHA recordkeeping, and workers’ compensation intake.
Partner with carriers/clinics on treatment status, modified duty, and return-to-work plans.
Timekeeping & Payroll Support (ADP) Monitor daily time clock accuracy: missing punches, duplicates, and off-schedule entries across all camps.
Run and review exception reports; coordinate fixes with managers.
Verify pay classes, transfer codes, and job locations to ensure accurate costing and compliance.
Escalate chronic issues and coach managers on preventive routines.
Support semi-monthly payroll readiness, including approvals, audit spot-checks, and off-cycle corrections.
Maintain wage/hour compliance documentation per company policy.
Policy, Coaching & Compliance Advise managers on corrective action, performance improvement, and conflict resolution.
Interpret and apply CHH policies consistently.
Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends to improve retention and culture.
Field Partnership & Culture Build trust with camp leaders and crews; maintain a visible, consistent presence.
Support onboarding quality and manager readiness, including expectations, documentation, and follow-through.
Required Skills Exceptional communication skills, clear, direct, and diplomatic in English and Spanish (bilingual required).
Ability to de-escalate conflicts, investigate objectively, and maintain confidentiality.
Strong judgment, organization, and follow-through under tight timelines.
Hands-on with ADP Time & Attendance (or similar): time edits, exception reports, approvals, and payroll cutoffs.
High proficiency with Microsoft 365 and email; comfortable with timekeeping and HR tools.
Experience 4+ years in Employee Relations or HR Generalist roles, with ownership of investigations and case management.
Working knowledge of OSHA and workers’ compensation practices.
Multi-site operations experience (hospitality, facilities, industrial services) preferred.
HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
Work Schedule Core business hours with flexibility for after-hours/urgent escalations tied to operations and payroll timelines.
