Our role is to build a diverse and active community of support. Our mission is to create the greatest system of parks and indigenous protected areas in the world.</p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(45, 45, 45)\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Role Summary:</span></span></p>\n<p>We are hiring two Event Ambassadors to support our Retail Operations team during the busy summer event season. The successful candidates will lead on-site operations and help streamline behind-the-scenes tasks. Under the supervision of the Manager, Retail Operations, they will help organize booths at various events, such as the Shipyards Night Market in North Vancouver. They will raise funds through sales of BCPF branded merchandise<span> and represent the brand with strong customer service and product knowledge. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>This hands-on role is ideal for someone energetic, organized, and customer-focused, ready to help us shine in person and behind the screen.</p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Responsibilities:</span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span>The Event Ambassador will p</span><span>erform the following duties:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34)\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); text-decoration: underline\">Events (primary weekend shifts)</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Set up, staff, and tear down booth at scheduled markets and festivals</li>\n<li>Represent the brand with strong customer service and product knowledge</li>\n<li>Share information with visitors and answer questions about BCPF programs</li>\n<li>Complete end-of-day tasks: closing out, transporting materials (as needed)</li>\n<li>Post-event mornings: unpack, organize gear, assist with sales reporting, feedback tracking and reporting</li>\n<li>Follow safety regulations, including proper lifting procedures and timely reporting of all incidents</li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34)\">Efficiently and accurately process sales of retail merchandise</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34)\">Collect payments via cash, debit and credit, issue </span><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34)\">receipts and change</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34)\">Manage float and ensure cash is balanced at the end of each shift</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34)\">Ensure the BCPF booth is attractively stocked and maintain inventory counts</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Logistics and inventory (weekday shifts):</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate with the Manager, Retail Operations on stock levels, replenishments</li>\n<li>Pack and dispatch online orders (courier handling, printing labels)</li>\n<li>Help manage inventory pre- and post-events</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Admin and coordination (weekday shifts): </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in completing required weekly forms (security access, permits)</li>\n<li>Help respond to online customer questions, claims, and custom requests</li>\n<li>Support the Retail team in general prep and follow-up duties</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Requirements:</span></span><span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Strong customer service and verbal communication skills</span></li>\n<li><span>Previous retail experience is preferred, but not necessary</span></li>\n<li><span>Should be a people person!</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to quickly perform basic math</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to lift occasionally, kneel, squat, move boxes of product, and stand for extended periods</span></li>\n<li><span>Flexible availability, especially evenings and weekends</span></li>\n<li><span>Fluency in a second language will be an asset</span></li>\n<li><span>Must be based in the Greater Vancouver area and able to commute to event locations</span></li>\n<li><span>A driver’s license will be required and access to a vehicle is an asset</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Work Environment</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>This role will require working outdoors (rain, wind or shine!)</span></li>\n<li><span>It will require weekend and evening work (markets may run to 10:30pm)</span></li>\n<li><span>Light weekday hours for admin, packing, or reporting work (~1-2 days/week)</span></li>\n<li><span>A uniform will be provided</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34)\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Shift Schedules:</span></span><br><span>We are hiring (2) temporary positions working 30-35 hours per week starting July 1, 2026</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Commitment to Equity:</span></span><span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Preference may be given to qualified Indigenous candidates or those from or with experience of other diverse cultures (this includes learning and/or applying information and practices of your culture of that of another culture)</span></li>\n<li><span>Those identifying as being part of groups which are underrepresented or facing barriers to the labour market are encouraged to apply</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">CSJ Eligibility:</span></p>\n<p><span>These roles are being funded by Canada Summer Jobs.
