    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Adjunct Instructor, UNIV 182, AI for All: Understanding and Building Artificial Intelligence  </span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>George Mason University Korea is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual for a part-time position in <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">UNIV 182 AI for All: Understanding and Building Artificial Intelligence </span>for the Fall 2026 semester, beginning August 2026. <br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities</span> </p>\n<p>We are looking for a dynamic, innovative individual to teach UNIV 182, 1 section/ 3 credits. This is a one-semester Adjunct Faculty position.  The Fall 2026 course schedule is fixed and noted below.  </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monday &amp; Wednesday, 2pm-3:15pm</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About the Position</span> </p>\n<p>This is a part-time, non-tenure track position. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason’s academic and culturally inclusive environment. <br><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">UNIV 182 AI for All: Understanding and Building Artificial Intelligence (3 credits)</span></p>\n<p>Provides an introduction to artificial intelligence (AI) for undergraduate students from all academic backgrounds, with no prior experience in computing or quantitative fields required. The course explores core concepts, real-world applications, and the broader societal impact of AI. Through hands-on, non-coding activities, students will engage with tools ranging from basic neural networks to advanced language and foundation models. Coursework—including projects, discussions, and critical analysis—examines AI’s role across fields such as healthcare, public policy, climate, and the arts, with attention to ethical considerations. By the end of the course, students will develop both conceptual understanding and practical AI literacy applicable to their disciplines.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Required Qualifications</span> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Completion of a Master’s degree in related field by January 2026. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrated excellence in teaching, with at least 4 semesters of similar courses at the college undergraduate level. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Proven ability to collaborate with faculty of multiple disciplines. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Share the department’s commitment to Inclusive Excellence in transdisciplinary education and research. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to use campus technology tools used to teach in multiple modalities (Canvas, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office, Zoom, etc.) and willingness to adapt to new technologies that might be adopted by the campus in the future. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Preferred Qualifications</span> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Completion of a Terminal degree in related field by January 2026. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience teaching diverse students and working effectively in diverse teams. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>International teaching experience. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Who May Apply -</span></p>\n<p>Local applicants authorized to work in the Republic of Korea, including those who hold F series visas.
