Here, you will make an impact by:</p><p></p><ul><li>Conducting complex tests as directed with minimal supervision, including chemical formulation preparation and processing; sample measurement and analysis using optical, surface area, and particle size techniques; and component assembly.</li><li>Implement test methods, including sample preparation, testing, data analysis, and reporting results.</li><li>Maintaining electronic laboratory notebook records of test conditions, results and observations, and summarizing experimental data using Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel or other software applications.</li><li>Participating in team meetings to plan for subsequent experiments.</li><li>Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, placing purchase orders to ensure availability of raw materials and supplies, and other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Your Skills and Expertise  </b><br />To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:</p><ul><li>High school diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)</li><li>One (1) combined year of experience in a laboratory environment experience in a private, public, government, or military environment</li><li>One (1) year of experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint</li></ul><p></p><p>Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:</p><p></p><ul><li>Associate’s/Two-Year Technical degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or Materials Science (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution</li><li>Experience with formulations and/or synthesis of materials</li><li>Experience with laboratory instrument maintenance and upkeep</li><li>Experience working with diverse teams including external partners</li><li>Three (3) years of experience in a research materials laboratory in a private, public, government or military environment</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Work location: </b></p><ul><li>This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN. </li></ul><p><b>Travel: None</b></p><p><b>Relocation Assistance: May be authorized </b></p><p></p><p><b>Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).</b></p><p></p><p><b>Supporting Your Well-being</b> </p><p>3M offers many programs to help you live your best life – both physically and financially.
