Offers are based on experience, education, certifications, and other factors.</p><p><strong>City of Greeley's Total Rewards</strong><br>The City offers a robust benefits package including health and wellness, retirement savings, and discounted Greeley facilities access.</p><p><strong>Job Summary:</strong><br>The Building Inspector II provides expertise to other City employees and to the citizens of Greeley in the field of Building inspections, specifically, electrical in relation to residential, commercial, industrial, and rental property. This position may direct assignments for Building Inspector I staff.</p><p><strong>Experience, Knowledge, Skills:</strong></p><p><strong>Minimum Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or comparable industry certifications</li><li>Five (5) to six (6) years of experience in construction, structural, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical fields</li><li>Master or Journeyman Electrical license required</li><li>Ability to attain ICC Residential Building Inspector certification within the first year</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p><ul><li>Structural experience</li><li>Bilingual in English and Spanish</li></ul><p><strong>Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, and fire codes</li><li>Awareness of hazards and ability to work safely</li><li>Understanding of construction principles and system integration</li><li>Ability to identify code violations and safety hazards</li><li>Skill in reading blueprints and construction documents</li><li>Strong communication skills, both verbal and written</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software</li><li>Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills</li><li>Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities</li></ul><p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p><ul><li>Conduct inspections for compliance with codes and ordinances</li><li>Review plans and construction documents</li><li>Log inspection results using TRAKiT</li><li>Issue violation notices as necessary</li><li>Investigate complaints and enforce codes</li><li>Provide technical guidance on code requirements</li><li>Coordinate with planning, fire, engineering, and public works staff</li><li>Respond to inquiries from the public and stakeholders</li><li>Assist in training Building Inspector I staff</li></ul><p><strong>Supervisory Responsibilities:</strong><br>N/A</p><p><strong>Travel:</strong><br>Regular local/field-based travel within the County.
