We value the cultural richness that our diverse workforce brings to the care of our equally diverse population of patients and residents. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Your Day to Day:</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provides direct intervention for patients with communication and swallowing problems. </li>\n <li>Utilizes appropriate assessment instruments to determine diagnosis and therapy program. </li>\n <li>Maintains effective communication with all staff and collaborates with the treatment team, patients, and families. </li>\n <li>Educates patients, families, and staff about communication and swallowing deficits and ongoing management. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintains an organized work environment and schedules patient sessions according to guidelines. </li>\n <li>Reports patient care issues to the Professional Practice Leader and assists in identifying service improvement opportunities. </li>\n <li>Responds to inquiries regarding the service and maintains accurate records and reports. </li>\n <li>Stays updated with current knowledge through educational activities and assists in quality improvement initiatives. </li>\n <li>Develops and evaluates in-service education and programs for patients and families. </li>\n <li>Represents Communication Disorders on interdisciplinary committees and identifies site initiatives. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p></p>\n<p><em>We acknowledge that Providence Health Care & the new St. Paul’s Hospital site is located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-W</em>aututh) Nations. </p>",
