    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Position Summary:</strong> The Groundman Transmission position is an entry level position in the construction, maintenance and repair of electrical transmission systems.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized transmission work.</li>\n <li>Stringing overhead wire.</li>\n <li>Setting poles and anchors.</li>\n <li>Frequently works with energized high voltage systems requiring skill and care to protect the lives of themselves and others.</li>\n <li>Maintains company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.</li>\n <li>Does all other related work as required to complete the job.&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Able to perform rigorous physical labor.</li>\n <li>Understands proper use of company radio.</li>\n <li>Understand basic rigging, hand lines, and lineman knot tying.</li>\n <li>Understand the proper use and maintenance of hand tools.</li>\n <li>Capable of receiving and following directions.</li>\n <li>Capable of learning basic knowledge of materials used in line work.</li>\n <li>Understands DOT requirements (pre-trip/post trip inspections, etc.)</li>\n <li>Understands basic rigging techniques.</li>\n <li>Understands proper use and maintenance of hand tools.</li>\n <li>Possess a basic knowledge on safe use of chain saw, bush axe, etc.</li>\n <li>Understands personal protective equipment requirements and wears PPE when and how it is needed.</li>\n <li>Understands proper use and care of ladders.</li>\n <li>Able to assist in pole framing, setting, and removal.</li>\n <li>Understands the basic concepts of grounding procedures.</li>\n <li>Understands how to safely set up a work zone.</li>\n <li>Able to assist with structure assemble and disassembly.</li>\n <li>Possesses a basic working knowledge of de-energized line work.</li>\n <li>Must be familiar with induced voltage.</li>\n <li>Capable of performing basic bucket rescue/escape.</li>\n <li>Capable of safely setting a pole.</li>\n <li>Understands the basic concepts of equipment set up and grounding.</li>\n <li>Capable of working at heights and/or confined spaces.</li>\n <li>Possesses a basic knowledge of cover up.</li>\n <li>Understands minimum approach distance.</li>\n <li>Understands flag and tag procedures.</li>\n <li>Possesses knowledge of proper work zone set up.</li>\n <li>Possesses knowledge of pole framing, setting and removal.</li>\n <li>Capable of properly inspecting rubber goods, covers and PPE.</li>\n <li>Understands when to wear personnel protective equipment.</li>\n <li>Able to learn to climb different types of structures (wood, steel, etc.) and possess the necessary tools to do so.</li>\n <li>Capable of making up and using a hand line.</li>\n <li>Understands how and when to use Kellum grips.</li>\n <li>Able to identify different types of materials used in line work.</li>\n <li>Able to travel long distances on short notice, when required.</li>\n <li>Able to work for extended periods in various locations, when required.</li>\n <li>Able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License.</li>\n <li>Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.</li>\n <li>Must be able to work outside, frequently in inclement weather.</li>\n <li>Willing to work over-time when requested.</li>\n <li>Willing to work outside of the normal work schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required for the position.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands:</strong><br/>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.<br/>&nbsp;<br/>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; and reach with hands and arms.</p>\n<p><strong>Work Environment:</strong><br/>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
